Thoughts for Tunica

Post by Lucky Larry »

All of us on this forum have gambling and casinos in common. Our prayers and thoughts to everyone impacted by the Mississippi flooding.   Many of us have enjoyed trips to the Tunica casinos. Our hope is for a speedy recovery for those impacted by the floods and the loss of the casinos.

Nicely stated LL and I agree with your sentiments.

I talked to a guy who worked at one of the Tunica casinos and he said they will be closed for quite a while, I've heard conflicting stories as to how long but no doubt it will have a huge negative impact on the area. From what I understand the casinos have insurance to cover thier loss of income so they are paying some of the fulltime employees for a certain amount of time but the part timers are sol.

I heard a month, once the water recedes, before the casinos will re-open. I saw pics of some of them,  and I think that is optimistic. I remember the impact the storm surge from Katrina had on Biloxi.
I wish everyone in the effected areas the best.

I agree with your thoughts.  The flooding we had here in Kentucky is now heading down river.  I don't know when the casino's around here will open.  Probably a couple of weeks at least.  Prayers for all who are facing homes flooded.
