Headed to Joplin/Carthage what are the best casino for stay/play? Looks like Downstream Casino is really nice. Input/recommendations from anyone are appreciated.

Hi LL, Well you know you are in my neck of the woods...I'm just about an hour from DS and to tell you the truth I'd rather go almost anywhere else but there...It is clean and new...Not very many VP machines and if you believe all VP is created equal guess it won't matter...It's an Indian Casino and I don't think there machines are regulated the same as NV..Seems people do win on the slots but I've never heard of many hits on the VP..Food is just so so...If you are just determined to play it's the best in the area...There are a few others but all cater to Slots and not VP...However with your luck you may indeed prove me wrong...If you get to Spfld look me up....K.

kjohn,
thanks for the response I knew you played in the area and hoped you'd respond. Our main goal was to stay one night in Miami casino either on way up or back from Joplin/Carthage.

Hi edog, I'm not very politically correct.. It's how you treat your fellow man that counts....I love the Indian culture and that's what we called our Native Americans when I grew up and it wasn't an insult at all...If I was an American Indian I'd be proud to be called just that...I have a whole series of Time Life books about.....the Indians of America...Look it up if you don't believe me...They are still for sale on Amazon....I know that each state has it's own regulations. Oklahoma has some problems...Fights between tribes, law suits etc...

kjohn,
What would your recommendation be just skipping the area or staying one night somewhere else? We could also make Winstar an hour north of Dallas?

Good morning LL...Depends on how you drive...When my family from Austin, Houston come up they went through Dallas...My one sis and hubby stopped at one of the bigger casinos right across the border...They said it was very smokey and they left..I have a list of all the casinos in the area so I'll look it up for you...There is one called High Winds that is little but was clean several years ago and one in Senica....When I say there aren't many VP machines I kid you not...If I was counting I'd say maybe 40..One whole bank is nickle only and just a few TP..From what I understand the hotel at DS is nice so if you just want to kill a few hours you might want to go ahead and stay there...There is Buffalo Run which is a pit..Smokey and noisy...I quit going there when I actually got Two J of hearts on the same play...LOL I showed a slot person and he just said..Oh and shut the machine down...Anyway I'll send you the list with comments via email..Hope you still have the same email...
