They lower comps because they can. Just like @ the gas pump. One casino in particular raises our comp $ when we frequent less.

The one difference between the gas pump and the casino is that Sweet C and I can decide not to go to the casino. Or, at least not as often. We've even cut back on the gas pump usage when we can. Not sure the market speculators or Exxon have noticed though.

Larry the high rollers deal will not LAST at the isle. I know some high rollers here in san antonio and they would not even walk into the isle. It is a c+ hotel and casino on a good day. I could see a large player going down to eat that wonderful buffet that has food not fit for a dog. If the cash back and comps are not there people will go back to vegas. Here is the deal if I go to vegas with my wife it cost me about 500 to 650 in airfare. I always get free rooms and food. The reason i have been going to Lc is the comps are good and its is a 5 hour drive and i really do not have a ton of time.I work for my self so,its hard for me to be away for a long period of time.If the comps are down, i will go to vegas 3 times a year, instead of lake charles 7 to 10 times a year. We all have choices and I am not going to let casinos dictate there bs to me.There is a lot of casinos in this country. One other point are the comps at the isle there idea or is it a request from there headquaters. When the 3rd casino opens that will all change.Funny we were thinking  about going over the 22nd of july for a couple of days. Well my son is going to vegas that weekend,we may go there instead after getiing the info. thanks larry

Raven,
I too have my doubts as to how many high rollers will take the Isle offers or at least for long. We have also discussed other options and the free trips to Beau Rivage are making more sense all the time. Not sure if the new comps programs are a corporate or local decision. I understand a new software program has been implemented so it may be corporate or a combination to allow for local competition.

We'll be sending a response to marketing/GM and look forward to their response.

Larry harrahs and mgm did this back in 2007-2008 changing the cash and comps well i starting going to lc.I have friends that go to vegas and stay at the nugget,Wynn, red rock and some others, there always places that are smart enough to know if you want a solid gambling base of customers you must give good comps food, rooms cash back and promotions to keep them coming back. The Vegas gaming community has suffered great revenue losses in the pass 4 years. Now they are starting to wake up.I also know a couple that sounds like you and your wife they go to laughlin about 5 times ayear and they love it.Have a good 4th.
