Gambling with an Edge July 28th

Post by Frank Kneeland »

This will be my last show as co-host. Bob is on vacation, so I'll be flying solo.I will have two guests:1. Peter Liston an active progressive slot team owner from Australia that is essentially living my book down under. I'm very excited about this guest, as it will be the first time I've had a chance to interview someone in my direct branch of pro gambling that's not retired.2. Dr. William McCown will be on to talk about his latest book which is a diagnosis and treatment guide for practitioners dealing with problem gambling across the county. His take on the third wave of gambling and where it's taking us is different from I Nelson's Rose. The contrast should be illuminating.I'll be opening the phone lines so people can call in with questions or just to say Hi/By to me. Unlike our show format in the past, I'll be taking callers for both guests.I plan on ending on a high note ( E above high C).Our Live Air-Time is: 7 PM Thursday nights on KLAV Talk-Radio 1230am In Las Vegas. You can listen live at: http://www.klav1230am.com/ To CALL in LIVE during the show the Numbers are:(702) 731-1230 & 1-(866) 820-5528~FK

Ive enjoyed your participation also and you will be missed. I just read the Dancer column posted and what is his problem? Well I don't think it's clear that he has a problem. We know ratings have been dropping. We know a change is called for. My ideas on how to make the show better are just that "ideas". Without trying them I cannot say if they would be improvements for sure. Bob seems to feel confident that focusing more on gambling issues with a co-host that has broader pro gambling experience is the way to go. I hope he is correct and wish him well.~FK

Oh I meant how he sounded so bossy. Personaly Id rather listen to a girl with big jugs from a casino waitress crew be interviewed for a nice change than him and his constant all-about-me agenda. I think that was a refreshing idea and Im sure you had others. I also think you made the right decision to leave.

That's not the audience Bob wants, or the direction he wants to take the show. What appeals to one person another finds boring. He wants to make the show only about Gambling with an Edge. I worry that if he goes that route his audience will be very tiny. But audience size is not one of Bob concerns. His focus is on show quality for his niche listeners.~FK

Frank, you are very gracious. I have had several personal interactions with "Bob" and while I admire his discipline and knowledge, I realize that he is direct sometimes even to the point of not being very tactful.

frank i like reading your posts they are very constructive although your game is geared to high value progressives (example $3000 royal on 8-5 bp over 3% edge ) this also needs some change in play to aim for juicy royal but needs a larger bankroll and or teams to survive drought between royals in these games drains cash like the government.
