I love NO..........and unless you're a 24 hour gambler, I'd take advantage of all the other things to do and see within walking distance of the casino. If your a 7*, there are free tickets available to most venues in and out of the area. Diamonds get some, too. Just work with your host/hostess or go to the VIP room on the level above the high limit area.I don't think the other casinos are a comfortable walking distance. The locations can be found on the web. If interested in seeing what's in the area, also go to the web and find out the locations which are walkable from the casino/hotel.  Jackson Square, I-Max theatre, French Quarter, Aquarium, 2nd World War Museum. There are also plantation tours, midnight cemetary tours, or airboat rides through the bayous to be had with your gambling winnings.

New Orleans!  only Harrah's is in the city. Great restaurants right outside Harrah's on Fulton St. Walking distance to River Walk, the Aquarium, Jackson Square (Cafe du Monde beignets), St Louis Cathedral... lots to do besides gamble.

Biloxi is an hour an a half drive away with I think 11-14 casinos.

I agree with above poster there is so much to do in New Orleans in 4 days. WWII Museum is great!

I prefer to look down on the water then look up at it.  From what I have read Mohecan Sun and Foxwoods nearby are really something to experience. You say you have been to AC so you know all about the great Restuarants  and the nation historic sites in Philly. No matter what you decide, Happy Anniversary!

Farmer1, I have been to New Orleans several times, and to AC only once. I would choose NO since, as was said, there is a lot of non-gaming stuff to do right outside the door @ Harrah's. If you get bored with Harrahs casino, you can motor East on I-10 for about an hour and a half to Biloxi, where the Beau Rivage (an MGM property) is one of my favorites. There are many other casinos in the Biloxi area also.
I would recommend, however, that if it just the two of you, in New Orleans do not use just any cab that comes to the front door . I use the same local guy (his business card is "Mack the Hack - Call him, and he will come back" ) on every visit if we need a ride somewhere. Standard cab fees apply, unless he likes you. Then, if you have the time, he takes you for a ride around town with his meter turned off to show you some of the cool stuff.
If you decide on NO, I can PM you the info on Mack. Also, if you go there, please let me know the dates.
