casino hosts
At the risk of looking like a rookie, I have a question for the forum veterans. We have recently been assigned a casino host at our favorite Vegas casino. He sent a card encouraging us to conact him to help arrange our next trip. We are planning an October trip. Why not just book our latest offer on line? Is there an advantage to booking through the casino host?

IMO booking through a host is always a good thing. A good host will look for offers based on what you like (show tickets, reel rewards, gift cards) and usually let you know weeks in advance of mailings or internet listings. (Good for planning cheap airfares)
Also, if you have your host apply your comps to your bill before you leave you'll get a better deal because they do have some discretion in giving additional comps.
Of course this all depends on your level of play. Upgraded rooms are also a benefit of going through a host.
Hope this helps,
Baldie

I always use my host, and beat him like a rented mule to get everything that I have earned from my play.

I and my girlfriend, we give my host and ear ache. If we hear a rumour or of something going on and if we were not invited. We ask our Host " HEY, BOB " ! ! ! !

Thanks for the feedback. I emailed the host and he promptly responded and booked our stay. It will be interesting to see if we are upgraded etc. Thanks again for your input.

We've always found that a note of thanks, an occasional gift card and a follow up letter thanking the host for their efforts on our behalf with a cc: to the director of player development has led to even more assistance.
