boopsahoy...just tried to call revel to confirm offer info...25 MINUTE WAIT TIME...completly unacceptable...did u find out anything or anybody else out there have info regarding free play offer
As I already posted, Revel is already a trainwreck, the place never really had a chance.....the Aqueduct racino, which I already posted about, is set to surpass all previous records for this month of August based on the fact that the ridiculous heatwave has actually prevented people from going to places just like AC.....all the AC properties are shelling out record amounts of free play and free rooms for a SUmmer period, where summer is typically when they earn most of their profit..... A 25 minute wait time is a classic sign for a place like Revel that management is in tatters, it is wholly unacceptable and ridiculous, given the business they are in..... I received a email offer of a free room and 100 bucks from Revel valid ANY day (including friday and saturday) from now until September 30.....I've been to Revel exactly once for about 30 minutes 2 months ago, when they were offering to take players' diamond cards and give them all kinds of free stuff and equivalent Revel card standing.   The "kid" who gave me my level 3 Revel card was a travesty, like some 18 year old highschool punk who they grabbed out of a taco bell and gave 5 minutes of training. And this is a "billion Dollar resort"????   I weep for AC.....they need a czar to organize all the casinos and fix the whole town, it shouldnt be this bad.

i called again last nite and instead of hanging up or waiting on hold for 30 min i left my phone # at the prompt and actually got a call back in 15 min....spoke to reservations who confirmed my room and food comp...thats initiated at check in.....i was then transferred to revel card extension(3-4 min wait)and it was explained that i need to go to card sign up area...upon presenting proper id and coupon a acct would be created for me...a card would be issued...and the card would be loaded w/free play...by the way i was asked if offer i received had pictures of slot machines on the back...when i replied that it did the guy i was talking to said that what i received the free play is good for 90 days...i really dont care about that..i wanted to confirm that it was good for the day and a half that im gonna be there next week...his reply was absolutely...i dont know anything about a sign up promo..my concern was verifying room, food, and free play...based on what i was told everything appears "kosher" and im looking forward to my visit..i just need to figure out the "smokers escape"when i get there..might just bring nicoret gum and try that..will post observations when i return

I saw people standing hip-deep in the surf with cigarettes in their mouths when I was there. They had to re-light when a wave crashed ashore .

According to the local news here in MA, Mohegan Sun just laid off about 300 employees and discontinued their live Keno games.

They've already stopped issuing points for their $1 and above VP machines, and now when you put your players card in the machine, you can no longer tell what points you've already earned.

I guess the competition is really getting to them

Ive also heard they have been calling comped players the night before their reservation to tell them they were overbooked. Not good for customer relations especially players going for the first time. I didnt do my comp offer but I signed up for a card and got $50 free play and played it in a .25 VP machine. Played for a while and got a 4OAK and cashed out with $70 and left. They have the machines set up weird with $25 machines in the same area as .25 machines (I know cause I thought they were .25 and tried to play and realized lol) Not my favorite casino.

I am still a Sagamore card holder at Mohegan, but probably for the last time. I have been giving Foxwoods more of my business lately, but unfortunately they are still lowering paytables too. In the most recent example at Foxwwds, only a week ago, I was asked to leave a VP machine I had been playing for 5 hours immediately since they were going to do an upgrade. No warning at all. What they really meant is that they were downgrading the paytable again which they did. After much protest about not being warned a couple of hours before about this event, they offered me a small food comp. I followed up with protest letter. I actually did get an apology and the offer of another small food comp, but that is all. The no points machines are a real pain at Mohegan. My host had to write a letter and or call a Director to get me upgraded from Wolf to Sagamore because I fell short on points. I had extensive play on the no points machines, but we shouldn't have to go through this and who knows if it will work every time. I like the idea of speaking to a host at Foxwoods and showing the Sagamore card to get upgraded. I will try that on my next trip. It is unfortunate that in tough economic times casinos make the same mistakes as restaurants. Raising prices, cutting cusxtomer service, reducing quality and portions etc. That is a guaranteed recipe for failure. You need to attract new customers and keep old ones, not drive them away. I noticed that for September, the 1 year old Resorts World in NYC passed out both Mohegan and Foxwoods in revenue and they don't even have a hotel. They are completely smoke free to boot. I write many what I think are constructive suggestions to both Foxwoods and Mohegan, but never get a response. I noticed over the years one or two got quietly adopted, but that could be coincidence. Mohegan just had about 300 layoffs and unfortunately more to come. I do not know for sure, but I heard that Foxwoods will be in a similar boat soon. Let's hope not for the sake of the many good employees and their families. One final thing. I ran a test just last week on the VP machines that still do pay points at Mohegan. I tried several types of machines and denominations. If I played one dollar, my point balance only went up one cent. Therefore, you have to cycle through at least 400 dollars to get one point (worth 1 dollar in casino spending). That is a far cry from the original 80/1 when they first opened.
