Re: Variance

I do not see myself ever playing with more than 200 or MAYBE 300 dollars. So I will have to get lucky.  But I like learning the game and at least knowing in my short time I will be playing right.

What other amounts can I play with and do all places offer a choice or are some quarters only?

I would play with dimes or something to last a little longer but then I cannot win as much.

When I first went to Vegas I used to take $200 for gambling ($50/day). Those were the days.  Of course, I'd never heard of VP back then ...

Now I usually take $2000 for a single overnight trip to an Indian casino (10-12 hours gambling). The game I play is high variance (~40). I play .50 denom. I think you could get by with .05 denom and a $200 stake even playing DDB. I think you could play JOB at the .10 denom without any problems. If you have both strategies under your belt then you might want to play both, just for the experience.

One last comment. Both 9/6 JOB and 9/6 DDB are negative games. You will have difficulty finding either one of these at the .05 and .10 denoms without advance planning. The paytables you may find will eat your bankroll even faster.

On Fremont St., 4-Queens has 9/6 JOB at the nickel level.  Main Street Station has DDB at 10/6 for nickels (Only ONE machine at 10/6 though several are 9/6 DDB).  I know of nothing on the Strip that is Full Pay nickel.

Silverton has a couple of banks of nickel denomination (look for the Bob Dancer Approved logo back by the acquarium.)  I know Fiesta Henderson has some full pay nickel DDB machines in at least two locations in their casino (slant tops and a few uprights).

The only other full pay nickel machines with DDB I'm aware of are found at Texas Station (north of downtown).  Actually, their's are 10-cent but they are classified obviously as <$.25.

9/6 DDB for nickels can be found at Casino Royale on the Strip.

They (nickel full pay) are not that easy to find!  But Eduardo, I really think that it would be wise for you to consider that!
