Suncoast in Vegas & Harrahs in Laughlin

Post by Tony Felder »

The wife and I are heading out in April and have 3 nights comped at each place. Been to Harrahs Laughlin a few times and know the VP pretty well there. Never stayed at the Suncoast in LV before. Any thoughts on either place would be appreciated.

We have gambled at the Suncoast, never stayed there.  It's in a nice part of town, fairly close to Red Rock.  The casino and machines seemed kind of dated.  We played for a few hours and left with a little of their money.  Good luck to you!

We like the Suncoast.  I play single hand video poker- DDB and DB.  They have plenty of 9/6 (you have to look around for them).  I consistently do very well and I have my "favorite" machines I like to play.  Hubby plays cards and a little video poker.  We have never stayed there, but have heard their rooms are very nice.  We stay at the Orleans and have a wonderful host.  In fact, we will be in LV this weekend.   Hope you have a great stay and win lots of money.  Good Luck!

harrahs is a gaveyard for your money
While it's quite fashionable (and, usually correct) to trash the video poker inventories at Harrah's properties, Harrah's Laughlin is not totally bad. They offer single line 9/7 double bonus poker at 25c and 50c,  Illinois, aka airport, aka pNSU deuces (98.91% return) in triple/five play from 10c to $1 denominations, and 50 play deuces bonus (98.8%) for nickels or dimes. These aren't truly great pay tables, but they are vastly superior to some of the really putrid ones that some people on this forum are forced to play.

just because some players play poor paytables games does not make it right the worst game i would play is 96job to get comps free room harrahs laughlin used to have 50 play 96job 5c game in which i could have a free flight and room and keep a diamond card before comp value $110,000 coin  in x.9954=equal $508 expected loss before comps which for 3 trips to laughlin and 5 trips to lv while playing the bulk of my play at places with fpdw 100.76% some comps made it a good play, now with no casino in laughlin offering as good games, less comps from harrahs, and all games under 99% they are a graveyard for money

I have played at Harrahs Laughlin for about 15 years and I have not done very well in the last few years. They used to have at least 35% more video poker machines than they do now and many times I would come home with at least 1 royal per trip. I am going back to Laughlin in two weeks, having finally secured 2 seats on Allegiant Air. I am truly looking forward to it. I am curious about Allegiant. They don't look very large..what is the flight like? I sound so much like a rookie that it is ridiculous, but I am really curious. Do they offer food, or just peanuts and a half a coke like Southwest? We are going out from St. Louis and I hope this may be the beginning of many trips.
