GL cook and report back to us. I cannot remember the last time we were served anything to eat or drink on any flight! I have nuts, fruit and Hershey's w almonds packed for our flight to DC and VA tomorrow. We will fill empty water bottles after we clear security. No casinos in sight for a week and withdrawal is inevitable.

Southwest usually has some snacks plus soft drinks. We flew America West one time and they came along the isle and literally threw you a bag lunch, and usually the sandwiches were still frozen. I also carry some staples to eat on a 4 hour flight (don't bring subway sandwiches that have onions and green peppers, however..nobody seems to enjoy that) I really do not enjoy flying (hate is a better word) and flying into Laughlin really is a white knuckler in the summer. The thermals catch you dropping into the valley and its a head bumper at best. I used to fly Sun Country from Mpls. to Laughlin and we used to play bingo and other games to pass the time. It was fun.

In Laughlin, stay at Harrah's. Play at Aquarius.
Nice high limit area $1. up.
Easy comps to the Outback Steak House.
Ride the river taxi to and from.

For years and years, we used to go to Havasu and in the evenings, we drove up to Bullhead and rode the river taxis over to then Sam's Town. One night, we stayed until 3 a.m. and went down to catch the taxi back across the river except there was no river. Mud, lots of stinky mud. We did not know they closed the dam at midnight and stopped the water. Luckily, they did provide a shuttle back to Bullhead, but the sight of no water in the Colorado River was amazing. We also were there the night that one of the taxi's overturned at the dock of the Gold Nugget and everyone went out and upside down. I don't think anyone was hurt that I recall, but the currents at those docks is pretty intense. Where is the Outback? At the Aquarius? I told the husband I have no intentions of sleeping for the 4 days we will be there. Piece of cake.

We will be at Harrah's in Laughlin next Sunday for 3 days. I have had decent luck there on VP. I do believe the Aquarius has the largest selection, but have been itching to play quick quads since there isn't any in the Detroit area. The only place I will be able to find them is at the Riverside, never played there. Also love wheel poker at the Golden Nugget, hit for $1200 there in Dec, so looking forward to those machines.

I love the Golden Nugget. They always had the most variety of v.p. and I am hoping that that they still have the 6's and 9's and the Aces with no face card. When we lived in So. Calif, I was either at Laughlin every week or Main Street in Vegas. We used to drive up the back way through 29 Palms and Joshua Tree and then out into the desert and I loved every minute. The marine corp at 29 Palms used the desert for a fly through and artillery barrages. Nothing like driving out in the middle of nowhere and having a jet fly right over your head..ahh, the memories. The Riverside was always a good V.P choice, as was the old Ramada Express, now the Tropicana (I think). Pioneer was really old and kind of grungy, but good machines. Let us know how you did in Laughlin.

The Outback is at Aquarius.
The Ramada/Trop has a double pay feature on four 7's.
But they exclude the $5 games. Learned the hard way on that.

Allegiant doesn't serve what I would call real food.  They give you a snack pack with cheese, crackers, cookies, etc., and, if it's a long enough flight, a small bag of pretzels. Flying from Buffalo or Toronto, there is always a westbound  refuelling stop, usually in Wichita, but on our most recent trip, Des Moines.  From St. Louis, you probably won't have that.

What is a double pay feature on four 7s? I was at the Ramada about five years ago and got four 7s. I think it paid triple.

backsider (pleasure to talk with you), they have had the 4 7's bonus as long as I can remember. Started at the old Ramada. When you got the 7's, you had to call the slot attendant. It was just kind of a special thing. Glad to see they kept something. Cheese, crackers and pretzels..ooohh, a buffet! Does anyone know if they still have the prime rib special at the Riverside? That was really great. Anyplace that comes to your table and slices the meat in front of you is okie-dokie with me. One more week to go.
