Today is the first day of the contest. So far today, I've played 9 sessions. I normally play the monthly contest almost exclusively while it's going on. I can't see me doing that this month. Out of the 900 hands I've played today, I've had only 8 "3 of a kinds" dealt and I've managed to make 3 entries into the 2nd Chance Drawing. I lived in Nevada for over 30 years, I've played just about every kind of Video Poker machine there is. In 100 hands on any poker machine, if I were playing any that played as poorly as these Frenzy machines play, I would move within a few hands. They are horrible! I find most hands consist of a small pair or, 3 or 4 hands to a straight or a flush, and give you nothing on the draw. I've been disappointed with games in the past, but never as much as I am with this one.
Sorry for my first post to be so negative. I didn't know this forum was here until the other day.

Darlin you are preaching to the choir here. Game seems somewhat pissed off at everyone. Like I will give you nothing and you willl like it. kinda disheartening we have to deal with this another week or so. Then again we do not have to participate either.

I know, dog, that's why I said I probably won't be playing it much this month. I'll go to the challenges instead. At least I can have some fun while I lose my butt... lol

Agree with edog and Darlin about the game. A casino would have to pay me to plaly.

I guess a good question at this time is, how often do dealt 3-of-a-kinds come along in video poker, how many should you expect on average in a 100 hand session, and what percentage of sessions will have zero, 1, 2, 3 or more? Any whizzes here want to fill in those gaps? I think this is another more volatile game. In just 100 hands (which goes by pretty quickly) you can lose quite a few sessions. But when you do get multiple frenzies, it should make up for it in those rounds.Naturally, that doesn't say anything about the enjoyment of the game. Personally I find this one to be entertaining (though I haven't played it much with the brief 100 hand limit found in the contest). I enjoy the chances at more quads when they come along, especially in the 10 line version.Personal opinion... like all games, some will love it, some will hate it. Unfortunately, some people make that call based on the cards they get, which may just be a bad run of luck. I like to get some real play in on a game (and run some numbers) before I decide if a game is appealing enough to play in the casino.Of the past several new games we've had, I think this is one of the more enjoyable ones for me . As always, we appreciate the feedback, positive or negative. For those who stick with it, best of luck in the contest!

I'm no wiz, but I have looked into a few of those in the past so I can fill in a couple of gaps. As I recall you should be dealt 3 OAK every 47 hands on average. I just looked it up online, and didn't find the 47 but did find a "50", so it would appear you should average around 2 per session.
I did find a page on what appears to be a reputable site that mentions conversion rates:
http://www.videopoker.com/learn/statistics/
which states a 3 OAK would improve to a quad on average once every 24 times.
So far my statistics look like this:
Session # # trips conversions/# hands
1 0
2 4 0/7, 0/9, 0/10, 1/10
3 1 1/6
4 3 1/6, 1/8, 1/10
5 5 0/9, 0/7, 2/6, 0/6, 0/8
6 0
7 1 0/7
8 7 0/10, 0/9, 0/7, 0/10, 0/9, 1/6, 0/7
9 3 0/9, 0/10, 0/9
10 1 1/9
Expected dealt trips in 10 sessions: 21.28 (10 sessions x 100 hands /47)
Actual: 25
Number of Frenzy hands played: 204
Expected number of bonus quads: 8.5 (204 hands / 24)
Actual number of bonus quads: 9
Average # Frenzy hands dealt: 8.16
Highest score: 7,120
Lowest score: 855
Highest bonus: 6,640
Number of entries earned: 5
This is better than I usually do; in the last few contests I was running only in the 30% range for entries. Of course this is a small sample so it doesn't mean much and is only presented because I thought someone might find it interesting. I was somewhat surprised it came out as close to where it should be as it did because I thought the couple of -0- hands would have a larger impact than it did.
I'd probably give it a try in the casino, but I doubt I'd play it all day. My only complaint is that it would have been nice to see at least one out of my 25 opportunities be higher than 10 since it is supposed to go as high as 34 hands, but then again, at least I didn't have a single 5 hand bonus.

I believe it only goes up to 34 hands in the 10 play version. Since the contest is triple play, 10 may be the maximum. I will check on that.

Webman,
On TDB, I'm not able to hold a kicker when dealt trip A,2,3,4's. What's up with that?
