According to the article, we would only need 334 people to stay three nights each.. Under the program, new conventions or other groups must meet in Atlantic City in 2013. The business must generate at least 1,000 room nights at a casino hotel. Priority will be given to midweek, nonsummer and first-time business — a way to fill in gaps during normally slow times of year.

It has been a while without any news on this, but here is the latest. VP.Com is in dialog with boardwalk casino folks to try and make this a reality. Still looking at a Saturday event, probably in April, since that would seem most attractive to the folks that live close. 


I hope they can make it happen...

Yeah, screw April 20!   4/20 is better known as the day all "herbologists" celebrate being...uh, "Herbologists" by SMOKING Herbological wares....not that I have any personal experience of knowledge of such things mind you, but many other people do, including no doubt some of our compadres here at video poker forum!   I dont want people stoned and trying to attend our meet and smok....er GREET!   Besides, 4/20 was also Adolph Hitler's Birthday.......    Based on my experience of the past four years,  and given the obvious fact that we need to do this at least a couple weeks BEFORE Memorial Day weekend, I propose May 3 (friday) thru May 6 (monday) as a target Range of possible date(s) for an meet & greet.....its CINCO De Mayo weekend as a Bonus, so no doubt we will all be primed to enjoy lots of Mexican food and Beer (like Corona, Dos Equis and Tecate!)     Yessiree, I LOVE Cinco De Mayo (or Cinco De Miracle Whip for those of you watching your calories.......HAHAHAHAHAHAAA!)

sorry burglar but i really don't see the humor in your post.my sister in law lost her 14 month battle with cancer and we are still mourning our loss.as much as i want to go to this meet and greet,if it is held on april 20th i will not be able to make it.

I appreciate the suggestion of dates, Burglar, but the earlier feedback from many on the site was that a Saturday would fit their schedules the best. I do not believe that a casino will give their 'best deal' on Cinco de Mayo weekend.

what am I speaking swahili??? May 4 IS a Saturday, but I sugest May 3-6 as a RANGE of Possible dates with the Saturday smack dab in the middle.....people can work their stays in and around that. As for cinco de Miracle Whip, I just spewed that out for the heck of it, but as far as I know, Atlantic City really doesnt get all that worked up over this holiday, unlike southern California or even Vegas with their proximity to Mexico......point being, the cinco de mayo weekend is unlikely to be differently priced (i.e. HIGHER) simply because Sunday May 5 is the day Mexico threw off the yoke of Spanish Imperialism!!!!    Truth is kids, AC is REALLY hurting for business, and while weekends are their ONLY true consistent busy times, Until Memmorial Day hits, a DEAL (a true discount DEAL) should not be hard to find. I personally will be there no matter what and when and where.....I have a poop load of comp rooms at different places and if need be, I can share a few at very low cost for people needing a last minute room, or anyone who only wants to stay one night and doesnt want to commit to a longer stay.    I'm burglar, Im here to HELP!   And doris, I was not denigrating a death in your family, just trying to add levity in the wake of your divulging that 4/20 sucks for you due to a funeral memorial service....it was meant to be supportive, afterall this site is about having fun!   I'm sorry for your loss, I hope you feel better.
