Range Steakhouse at Harrahs LV

Post by sinnh_old »

FYI to those who go to the Range Steakhouse at Harrahs LV.  They are closing Nov 11 until around Superbowl time and will re-open as Ruth Chris Steakhouse.  The staff will be the same but they will be following the Ruth Chris menu/preparation.  It's interesting though that the 2 Ruth Chris independent operations in LV went bankrupt and closed.  I believe Harrahs is doing this for the name only.  They will pay a 5% royalty to use the name.

I ate at one of the Ruth Chris's in Las Vegas several years ago and for the money I was quite disappointed. There is one here in Chicago that I have never stepped foot into and its probably because of my experience in Las Vegas and that there are tons of better steakhouses here in Chicago than Ruth Chris.

The Range Steakhouse wasn't anything unbelievably special, but it was decent. Typical slightly overpriced casino steakhouse.Harrah's used to offer many more $50-$100 food vouchers to good Vegas Diamond or Seven-Star players than they seem to have offered recently.Higher denomination table players could usually get a meal at the Range for a few hours of play as well. With change to Ruth Chris, likely that comps will even be more stingy since now a national branded restaurant and not in-house.Noticed the same in New Orleans, where Harrah's will regularly give out vouchers/comps to Besh Steakhouse in the casino, but very rarely to Ruth Chris in the hotel.
