Soaring Eagle/Firekeepers

Post by mogee »

In a few weeks I'll be going to Soaring Eagle and Firekeepers casinos in Michigan on a senior two night bus trip. This will be my first time at each casino and I'd appreciate any advice that you could give me especially as to where the good video poker can be found. Thanks!

Have a fun trip and report wins back to us. I have lost at both of those casinos recently. As usual, pick up a player's card and use it in machines for future offers. A friend picked up a player's card for Windsor and did not realize HE was supposed to use it at the machines.  We liked using comps at the newish buffet at Soaring Eagle. However, comps go further at the far right snack bar OR prime beef w mushrooms & onions on kaiser roll in hall beyond Player's Club towards parking structure. Many machines at S E take 10 and 20 coins for first bet so beware. A shuttle will take you to the old Soaring Eagle/bingo hall across the street. I hit a royal there, once. Short walk but chilly now! Great  pool and individual continuous STRENUOUS lap pool!I like FireKeepers. Their hotel opening keeps being extended as has often been the case with new casinos. It is now up to Dec 12 for taking reservations. I would double check their web site before counting on a room there!  I only played two machines for four hours. TDB end machine, towards back, perpendicular to entrance. Hit $500 twice. Also, loved DDB progressive, towards back and near Aurora, facing front of casino. Burgers and pizza worked at the snack bar for peeps with us. The buffet was great on a previous trip. Both casinos have self serve beverage stations.

Mogee, save most of your money for Soaring Eagle. They have much better pay tables. Full pay JOB at the nickle level! The 5-20 coin machines that I play are full pay Royal Flush after 5 Coins, so watch your pay tables.   I have a report on both Soaring Eagle and Fire Keepers. Look under Video Poker Games. Enjoy your trip!       Dave

There is also vp by the tables.....and a set of 6 on the main isle from the front. Just take a little time and walk around the casino, most of the vp machines are from where you will be dropped of walk stright and follow the carpet line and you will end up in the far corner, there is also 5 cent vp along the wall.  Have fun, we were there for awhile today, nothing to report, people are now calling it the money keepers!  They do have really gooood pizza!

The lower desk bank of older VP machines (as opposed to uprights) that I liked best at Soaring Eagle were on the right hand side about half way back. These are near the cashier and parallel to the front of the casino.  Either TDB or DDB. They took 10 coins per bet instead of usual 5.  My machines were facing the back of the casino. I will start there first, next visit! Gal next to me won a royal but did not have full coins in. OUCH! She was still thrilled as new carpeting was due in a couple days. If memory serves she won $700 ish instead of $2K.  I hit a royal there on another visit.

Yep, TG that is OVER! Had best luck on DWB, hitting deuces several times and other goodies. However, typically, L R wanted it back. Polka party plus trio was fun and our group appreciated all your hot tips! We enjoyed room, decor, pool and dining. I won a raffle for $50 free play at Soaring Eagle. I drew a six of diamonds, tore it in half and the lucky half was drawn. YES! Had fun being QUEEN OF  on Halloween at Windsor. Picture a black velvet hooded long cape. Burger King crown reversed and spray painted red, w big heart magnet clip in front and Q of hearts card stapled to back. Also, Queen of hearts card on back of large, red, heart shaped EMPTY candy box skewered with "brass" drapery rod for scepter. Anyone need two decks of cards minus Q of hearts? A friend had given out hysterical white sun glasses with large royal cards over eyes from the $ store. Too cute or tacky, depending on your call! Did you ask?
