WMS My Poker Machines

Post by OTABILL »

The current issue (April 2013)  Arizona Gaming Guide magazine (http://www.azgamingguide.com/)
has an article on WMS' new My Poker machines. According to the article, My
Poker "combines popular video poker themes and paytables with optional
feature bet games and a whole new level of personalization and comfort for an
amazing video poker experience." I have not seen these machines.  Wondering what VP games (DDB, TDB, JOB, etc.)
are included. Has anyone seen, played them? Appreciate any feedback.

I've played them. Most variants that you would expect are on there. They aren't bad, I like the ability to change things like colors/deck patterns etc. I don't feel like they are tons more comfortable than other machines. The crappiest part is most machines I have seen are terrible paytables. Horseshoe Hammond kept the same paytables for all available demonimations from 5c to $1. They were all in the high 96% - low 97% range. Best game was probably 55/8/5 JoB (97.35%); okay for nickels, but garbage for anything else. Tunica was even worse than this. Tunica Roadhouse replaced their very nice nickel machines with 98.91% Deuces with these machines that probably didn't even get to 96% return, terribly pathetic.

Played them and they are crap for the most part.  Give me the old style Game King machines.

I totally agree with Doris here....the ones I have seen in Caesars AC, as well as Harrahs AC,  have paytables that are almost a crime, and just as with most other VP machines of late in AC, these "My Poker Machines" deal total crapola as well, and I do mean CRAPOLA!   (oops wait, sorry to Tedlark and any other people I promised I would scale back the AC bashing....but with all due respect, DORIS STARTED IT!  lol    Seriously, it is relevant in this case, not to mention true and backed up by others!) These "customized" VP games are simply the latest gimmick, designed to help players ignore or forget the horrible paytables, and to make it seem like something "new" is going on here....when in fact this is just the same ol' same ol'...... I agree with whoever said "more gamekings please".....I'd prefer al the old fashioned, "pre-1999" machines to come back, the ones where you could FEEL the machines "Thinking" as you banged away at the buttons as fast as you could! I also want MORE of the Five Star Machines that have SINGLE LINE versions of games like Quick Quads and Dreamcard and others.....the mutli-line game versions of all these specialty games are impossible to enjoy because they consume your bankroll wayyyyyy too fast.

If these are the same machines that have Winning Streak @ Caesars LV, then the positive thing that I saw on them is that they have Triple Triple Bonus, where you get 4000 for TTF/Kckr.

Thanks for all the responses. I did some research on the My Poker machines. It seems the My Poker machines were first introduced in June 2012 with Station casinos intially having exclusive rights in LV. http://ir.wms.com/phoenix.zhtml?c=76037 ... id=1708523. They apparently, however did not show up in LV until the latter part of 2012. They seem to have arrived about the same time at the CET casinos in Atlantic City. http://www.atlanticcityinsiders.com/blo ... 963f4.html I assume that is where Doris and Vman encountered them.I played a WMS video poker machine one time prior to that timeframe here in Arizona. Had a better paytable for DDB  than most machines here. Given the poor paytables in AC, wondering if the ones at the Station Casinos in LV have better paytables.

Was at Harrah's Joliet on Easter Sunday and Monday with my husband. We played for about 4 hours each on the WMS My Poker machines at the 25 cent level. Between the 2 of us we got a total of 6 four of a kind including 3's playing TDB and 2's on TTB both without the kicker. My husband was playing TB and got 2's with the kicker. We ended up ahead for the time spent on My Poker. We found the seating more comfortable than the Game King machines but we miss playing TDB as the WMS machines we played on didn't have it. The DDB paytable was at 8-5 and TB was 9-5.
