joker poker showboat AC

Post by hijack »

In Showboat AC they have a 25- cent single line joker poker game with the 5 of a kind set as a progressive.  They have about 60 machines linked to this progressive,  and when I was there it was packed with people playing.  I have looked all over but can not find the correct strategy to play for this game or what the payback is.  Any one know or play this game??

I'll add, this is a tough game to learn and it has a very high varience.

The joker poker seems to be the hardest strategy to master. I have software and tried the JP a few times. The correct strategy was so far off of what I thought it should be I contacted the manufacturer to see if there was a glitch.  There were some plays where I was told to hold a 5 and others where a 9 was the correct hold. I have VPW and also use the trainer on line.  My conclusion is - I will stay away from the game unless I have to.

Very hard strategy but very fun to play and you hit 5OAKs more often than Royals.

They dropped from 60 machines down to 53 machines!   lol   When I was there last week the progressive never $1070........On the first night I was there it was at 1043 and then someone hit it.....two nights later it was up to 1069.89 and then BOOM, someone hits it, and then exactly 24 hours later, it was at 1034 and blam, someone hits it again......so yes, apparently if you can stomach the extreme volatility then that particular bank of progressive machines may be your ideal situation. As far as I can tell, with regards AC video poker being "another form of slots", that when it comes to the progressive banks of machines in various AC casinos, they are far less likely to be set below their paytable's advertised return because the progressive jackpots usually are profitable enough for Casinos as is, and no pressure or need to lower them into slot machine terriotory.
