In 20 years of playing single line DDB $1 denomination vp with max coins bet I had never seen the royal flush pay anything other than $4K, the only variance to that was for progressives and it was above that amount. Now, should I have checked, of corse but I took it for granted. In my defense I would question your ability to find any land based casino that pays anything other than $4K for the same royal. I've done everything you mentioned as far as mistakes go but I can correct them. I'm not sure if I would have played if I would have noticed the $1,500 for the royal because I would have known right off the bat how pathetic that paytable was. I also forgot to mention that was the only change to their game, Aces w/kicker paid $2K, $500 more than a royal flush. They taught me a lesson that's for sure, never take anything for granted and expect the unexpected.
