A few months ago I made some adjustments in how I play VP that changed everything for me.   I switched to playing the same low variance game at the same max coin quarter denomination all the time.  I am able to play this game for days with only occasional minor errors.   I gave up pot shots, running off to the high limit room and goofy coin counting strategies.   I let what happens happen.   I don't set limits because I don't need to.  When I'm tired of VP I go home.I don't fear losing, because I don't lose much even on a bad day.   When I do lose I consider it part of winning.  When I hit a royal, I get a white ticket for $1,000 and no W2G.   So far, Royals happen when they are suppose to.   We are human beings not computers.   As humans we have flaws that the casino uses against us.  We dream of big jackpots and our dreams don't involve quarters.  We also tend to panic when we are losing.  This causes us to take chances that practically never turn out well. I learned playing video poker successfully is a process, not a lightning bolt out of the blue.  Once I got that right, I no longer needed money management.   Good things started to happen for me and it changed my entire attitude.   It feels good.

Three RFs this year is a great dream. Yes, our dreams don't involve quarters. But staying on those machines until the last five minutes of the day is all the money management we need. I panic just losing $20 on quarter and run for dollar instead of calmly staying on the bank. Noisy bank with CW traffic and run down machines. But much safer.

Out of curiosity how many of you hit cash out right after a 4 of a kind/SF//RF? During my last trip I wish I would have done this a lot more often.. I was about to post that I never cash out until I'm ready to leave a machine, until I realized that it's not true. If I have a large number of credits (say, 4000+), I will cash out - not as a money management strategy, but as a safety/security measure. I think it's unwise to enable shady characters to see that you have that large number of credits.

What is TC's? i did not count the hands or time but my 260$ bankroll stayed intact and was able to leave with the house money (even if its a tad over 5$) i would have to do this 10 times or 100 times over to get a feel for it or a yard stick of measuring to what to expect in atlantic city if and when i gothis was all on 0.25 level

I think FAA is assuming you did your "testing" in an actual casino? That may be where his question germinated from. Can you update as to whether you did your "testing" in a casino or a computer simulator?

i am doing it at home, with software, i understand variance in video poker is so huge 10 or 100 bankrolls of 260 is very tiny but its better than going in blind folded
