personal to cook: click on the small envelope upper right that should have a 1 on it to indicate my in coming message. apparently you already did that. My message is still there. SO, 1. I commented about how funny we are. 2. I asked what happens when you combine a time release Dramamine and take a regular one later. 3. I mentioned we declined Harrah's cruise trips two years in a row. We considered the first and it appeared we would still being paying half price for that cruise, with their extra charges. 4. While food and entertainment were GREAT, on our cruise, our room TV only recd ESPN and a few movies, over and over. We are too addicted to computers, cell phone, and variety of TV programs. I recommend every one try a cruise and make it a short one for the first cruise. A four day cruise is long enough to get the experience and find out if you wish to pursue others.

A friend enjoyed the Mexico cruise her kids had given them for a special anniversary. However, the very next cruise on that ship was almost a disaster and that ship had to be towed to port. Our son's cruise ended in the middle of the night, docked at Miami. There was an explosion in the boiler room at 5:00 AM and passengers were given 5 min to gather their stuff and exit the ship. Their luggage was to be shipped to them later. Eventually, 9 crew members died from painful burns. Two weeks later, while son was on a business trip, intuition made me check his home. His luggage was on his porch including a special camera the kids had given us for Christmas. That ship had recently passed inspection.

I think the others deserve a chuckle once in awhile.   Unfortunately, anyone who has taken that offshore cruise knows exactly what I am talking about. OMG, that was one for the books. What happens when you take the time release Dramamine and regular later, is instant upchuck. However, it did make me feel better at that moment. I cannot tolerate any motion where my stomache cannot catch up to my brain. My doctor said it has something to do with the inner ear, but all in all, from now on, I will ONLY take the regular pill. When you get seasick on the largest cruise ship that was sailing at the time, I think it is clear it is best to just avoid boats, period, although I might try the Alaska cruise. If it gets too bad, once on land, I can hitchhike back here to Kentucky if need be. You know, it is not the price of the cruise that is so bad, it is the port charges and taxes.

Love cruising. We go every January. We would go more if we had more vacation time. We get pretty good perks from NCLs Casino At Sea Program.

We returned from our two week Alaskan Trip late last night. The cruise and Alaska was fantastic.  Princess has got it all together.  I would do it all again, but I felt like I was eating my way through Alaska.  I never want to see another buffet (just kidding).  Anyway, the casino VP machines were deserted.  Seemed like everyone wanted to play the Village People slots.  The VP machines were in great shape with no sticking buttons or wavy screens (hear that Tampa Hard Rock...).  The odds were predictably bad.  6/5 Jacks, 6/5 DDB and a Deuces schedule that was a little over 93%.  I switched into severe horrible odds mode and played one coin quarters the whole trip.  Hit a bunch of quad deuces and had a lot of fun.  Only cost me about $200 for the privilege of playing for 7 days.  I checked the mail last night and we have 4 different offers from the Beau Rivage.  The wife just loves Black Hawk Colorado, so it's kind of up in the air for this summer.  I thought about posting while I was on the ship, but the Internet fees were kind of pricy. Hope you didn't miss me too bad.

Welcome home, Phil. Glad to hear that you had a great trip! Nice trip report! A small price to pay for all that scenery and entertainment!
