I hope that all the people that don't like the new format will write in and be heard! I play for fun and like these games to be similar to what one would find in the casinos. I agree totally with vpwillis that it's better to have choices, depending on what your goal is, or what game is your favorite. Having just the one game isn't going to help anyone win without the luck of an excellent deal.

So what you're saying is that if you are playing deuces wild in a 3 hand contest and you are dealt quad deuces, this gives you a whooping 3,000 points. In the same contest another player is playing 3 hand TDB in a contest and is dealt quad 2's, 3's, 4's with a kicker the points won is 6,000. Wouldn't you rather be playing a game where you had the same exact chance as the other player to also win 6,000 points in a dealt hand? Dealt aces with a kicker is also available to you as well if you are playing TDB.

No Tedlark I would not rather be playing a game where I had the same exact chance as other players.  I would prefer to play the game   I    choose.

And when the game you choose gives you such a low chance of scoring high in a contest then you can blame nobody but yourself.

So what? Daily contests should maximize the enjoyment of the players, imo. I play TDB for the obvious reason, but why force everyone to play that? To be honest, I hate TDB, but I hate doing the wrong thing mathematically worse...

If they insist on just keeping one game variant per day, I hope they will eventually start switching variants to play the contest with.

As I mentioned in another forum posting, visitors to this site are not being forced to play anything in the contests. If a particular game doesn't strike a players fancy then don't play it; I don't like cauliflower so I don't eat it, even if there is a bowl of it sitting in front of me, I don't eat it.

Based on the 'contest' suggestions posted on  your website:"Play perfect strategy and increase your chance at placing in the Winner's Challenge.".I think, then, that perhaps if you go to only 1 game format per day (like currently TRIPLE DOUBLE BONUS), then this game truly doesn't test this theory, due the game itself being too volatile (i.e. - certain games like Jacks or Better and Bonus Poker, while boring to some players, does allow most players to play longer and have a better chance to break-even or win in any given session).  In my opinion, that would be a greater test of videopoker 'skill' vs luck (of which luck still does play a role).i.e. - in essence, the CONTEST (daily) should reflect a BALANCE of both a players luck and skill.  If the GAME ITSELF is weighed/determinant more upon getting big hands to win the session, then perhaps MORE HANDS per session could be offered (500 instead of 100).If the game has a lower 'volatile' feel to it (like Jacks or better, or Bonus poker, where those 2 pair hands pay 2-1 vs 1-1 as in other bigger quad bonus payoff games), then keep the sessions shorter (100 hands mininum). Those are my thoughts on the current format (changed to TDB only for the TYPES of game - whether single line, wheel, quick quads, etc).   I preferred the option to CHOOSE which game to play (and I do feel that by choosing to play for the MONTHLY win totals vs DAILY win totals would change my strategy).   I feel that also would be a better 'test' of a player's skill - the ability to choose the right strategy for the right games for the right purpose (winning daily or monthly contest).   Also gathered from your info FAQs on DOs and DONTs for playing vp....Thanks for reading

Did it ever occur to you that some us are playing not to win the daily contest but to get 5 points over the break even point.  Our goal is to accumulate total points.

It sounds to me like Fantasy Football - we lost the game, but my stats were good, so I am happy.
