I play for free here and it seems much much better than the casino as far as pays go I seem to stay the same, never down much on single hand poker, if I get down maybe 100 credits I come right back. Is this site programed? I don't hit like this at the casino. I do hit royals at the casino but the play seems to be all or nothing at the casino, yet on this site you don't go down much in credits. Anyone see this as well?
why this sites pays so good?

One more thing is at the casino when i have say have four cards to a straight or four to a flush, the card i discard I get it back in another suit other then what i need, a lot more hands then I think it should since there is 40 plus cards i could get.

We get many emails about the site not paying well enough, but the number of complaints about it paying too well are much fewer. Which I guess makes sense, since people are less likely to complain when they do well.In any event, all cards are selected at random with no controls about good or bad hands... the only reasons why you would get better or worse results here, on average, are good/bad luck in the short term, or the available pay tables as mentioned above.

i always congratuate the poster whom posts jackpots on this site but you are correct the average payback is about 97% game which means even with great comps you or i would not play this game, and the average skill level of the universe of all vp player average about 2% below optimum. the one saving grace i feel that folks on this site are playing closer to the "perfect play" rate, but that is giving the folks on this site a lot of headway

The biggest part of the answer, I believe, relates to pay schedules. The pay schedules on this site typically are in the 99% and higher range. Judging from the jackpot pictures proudly displayed on this site, players here regularly play 97% and lower games. Your results on a 99.5% game are going to be better typically than your results on a 96.5% game.[/QUOTE]
As we have discussed previously, Bob, personally, if I restricted my casino play to 99%+ games, I would not be able to play. I live in Florida, a non-casino state (for the most part), and travel to enjoy a gaming trip. I benefit from the national presence of the large corporate casino groups like Caesars Entertainment and MGM International, allowing me to use those benefits across the country. Typically, those casinos do not have the favorable VP pay tables that you seek. I do not believe that I could make enough trips to Vegas to reach the tier and comp status at a Vegas-only casino, such as SouthPointe, similar to what I enjoy from CET and MGM.
So when you see a post, at least from me, showing a quality VP hand on a 'poor' VP paytable, it is not because I am uninformed or lazy. I have made a conscious decision that playing at a CET or MGM property provides me with the benefits that I value, even at the expense of 3% on a 'perfect play' paytable.

I believe you and understand your point of view. My point in the post was that the pay schedules on this site are better than many of the players on this site normally play --- and that generally speaking players score better with better pay tables than they do with poorer pay schedules.I was not speaking of you or anybody else in particular, BJ. but rather the videopoker.com forum community as a whole. It was a general statement addressed to a beginner who was trying to understand why his scores here are better than his scores in a casino. Bob

I imagine a short run or streak either way could be a lifetime of play considering we are dealing with infinity for the long haul percentages. As an example, I know players who can hit two Royals in one day several times a year and other players who have never hit a Royal except with wild cards. These are regular players too, not just once or twice a year folks and in my case Royals have been coming over 100k hands apart for over two years now. Another funny thing is I have never hit a Royal on this site, but have caught 4 deuces much more than the average.

How often do you play on here? I barely play (usually STP days) have hit like 8 Royals this year on this site, and I am near a year without in the actual casino...grrr And I think I was dealt deuces on 50-play contest here this year as well.
