Sorry, Gary - not so much.

I think that he believes that the convention crowds, which certainly will drive hotel, food and beverage sales, will also significantly drive casino revenue. Bad assumption, IMO.

This is the same guy (lovemaan) who essentially put Caesars corp into HOCK for the next 20 years with a debt load so gargantuan it boggles the mind.....(okay, "hock" is a relative term, in this case it means, from a balance sheet perspective, the debt dominates everything else.)   I mean, up through even the darkest days of the great recession in 2009 Caesars was spending money on acquisitions like a drunken sailor on shore leave in Bangkok after 89 days at sea!  And Loveman had a big hand in that.... So for him to now stand here today in 2013 saying some of the Sh*t he is saying is both hillarious and alarming.   Billyjoe is right, convention crowds typically are NOT huge gambling enthusiasts (most simply do not have the time if they are there for Business reasons like a true bonafide industry convention.)  Vegas having conventions during the week simply allows them to keep their staffs busy and cover operating expenses, otherwise Vegas would have a HUGE part time workforce (more than it does now) from people working only Thursday night thru Sunday (when gamblers are there.) But what really made me laught (and cry too) was this doozy Loveman said in this interview, read on:   "We don't have much of an issue with people telling us they go to Atlantic City
and don't like the experience," said Loveman WTF?!?!?     Someone wanna explain this.....I mean, to me, having spent the last  4 years frequenting AC and becoming all too familiar with its many issues and problems, this basically EXPLAINS why it is so bad, the CEO of the biggest operator in AC is saying its OKAY that they treat their customers like crapola.

Well that's probably true too, and guess why?   Try complaining or reporting a problem with any aspect of your room or service you receive at one of the Caesars properties in AC.  The silence on the other end of the phone after you finish telling your story is deafening, that's assuming you even get or find a person of title or authority to complain to....most people just leave and never come back (for at least a while) when your property and/or games sucks.   Lovemna must have missed that day in Business school. Last month, at Caesars AC I wanted a comp for the Buffet, for one person;  I had blown enough to justify it so I called the operator to speak to the host on call.  After 5 minutes on hold in the lobby phone bank, I get this ditzy young woman who says she is the host on call, but she is not near her desk so she cannot grant my request until she looks me up.....then she says "wait, where are you at the moment?"    I tell her I am in the lobby near check in, and she goes "wave your hand for me."   I am like "wtf"?  to myself  and I ask her annoyingly "WHY???"    She says "I'm in the lobby too"  and I turn around and about 25 feet away is this woman, "the host on duty".    So she prances over in her prada boots and says really fast and with the typical faux enthusiasm casino hosts are known for these days "Come see me in 10 minutes over by the casino cage in the hosts area ok?   I'll look you up and see if you qualify!"   As I am about to politely object by saying "Yeah but...." as I produce my diamond card with the intention of sticking it in the Kiosk next to us so she can see my activity THERE,  she prances away, leaving me kinda stunned at the new "low" in professionalism and how hard it seems to have become to get simple comps on the fly these days. I went down the street and ate at Gallaghers burger bar, and loved it.

Burglar, AC is a "Reward Credits First" location at CET properties, even for a 7Star. If I want to get a true comp, I have to zero out my TR credits (I buy gas cards), and then talk to a host. I have had my host set up a comp ahead of time for dinner occasionally, but they usually have to use your TR credits first.

I find the hosts at both Vegas and AC to be equally inept. We actually have a host in both Vegas and AC. They do nothing for us. We actually seem to have more luck with a host on duty or a hospitality host. CET has different names for different types of hosts at their different properties.

We just got back from AC and my wife asked our host if she could get us comp tickets to the Legends concert. This was on Sat. night she requested for the Tues. night show. The host replied she would see and let us know and we never heard from her the rest of our trip. We were staying at Caesars. In the meantime on next evening while we were playing at Bally's, a host came by and noticed my wife's 7 star card in the machine and asked if there was anything she could do for us. My wife asked for 4 tickets to the Legends concert for us and our friends that were with us. Within 15 minutes she came back with confirmation of the free tickets. The show was great. She placed us in front / center booth.

We are not in the upper echelon of the 7 star tier but my wife does have over 200,000 tier credits for the year so far. We felt slighted by the Caesars host who still has not been in touch with us. She also did not follow through on the upper floor Ocean Tower suite my wife had been requesting from her since our last trip in May.

Consequently, we still had a great time but we did not gamble as much. We don't hold it against AC but Caesars does need to train their hosts to be a little more giving. Because of the lack of attention from our original casino host be probably only gambled half as much as we normally would have.

Did you get the chance to go over to the Borgata and take advantage of the card upgrade ?

JDW we did not get to b/c I left my diamond card in our room. We were staying at Caesars and all we had with us was my wife's 7 star and my 7-star companion card. We had another couple with us. I tried to see if they would extend the offer anyway but I was informed that I would need to return with my diamond card.

We are planning on returning to AC next Spring. I am going to make sure I have my diamond card with me so we can all 4 try out the Amphora Lounge. We hope the offer is still available when we come back.

I have found, over the years, that you need to 'train' your hosts at CET locations. I have a different host for all the CET casinos across the country that I frequent, and have 'fired' many. Their ability to work with you on things, though, definitely varies from location to location.
In Vegas, I have a great Caesars host, and I also keep in touch with the CET host manager there. They take very good care of me. Of course, they know that I am also a NOIR with MGM, with Mirage and Bellagio right next door.
