I like your idea of "firing" a host who is basically wasting your time. Most of ours need to be fired or retrained. We have a really good one at our home property in Bossier City, La. He has never refused anything we have asked for.

We used to have a great host in Tahoe who recently retired. The new guy that replaced him reminds me of the hosts we have in Vegas or AC. We have a hospitality host in Tahoe who is wonderful and takes care of us now. She does all of the work that the regular host should be doing but the other a**hole gets credit for our play.

How do you fire a host in a diplomatic way? I told my wife that what we need to do at each property, when assigned a new host, or with our existing ones, is visit with them and let them know what are expectations are and find out what they are willing to do for us. We are only in our 4th year as a seven star. We don't want to be chronic complainers, but I am tired of some of these hosts doing nothing for us but getting credit for our play.

You are not complaining if all you are asking for is the service that you have earned as a 7Star.

I would start by finding the name of either the Host Manager at each property, or the GM of the property. I have found that organizations vary depending on CET locations. Just let that person know that your current host is not meeting your needs, and that you would like to be assigned to a new host at that property.

The best host that I ever had, who has now left CET unfortunately, was at Horseshoe Tunica. His motto for 7Stars was "the answer is YES, now what is the question?"

Thanks for pointing us in the right direction Billyjoe. I like the attitude of the host you used to have in Tunica. He sounds a lot like our host in Bossier City. An attentive host makes a difference. We do not gamble anywhere except CET properties. When we point that out to a host I often wonder if they appreciate our loyalty. I guess it depends on the individual you are dealing with and to a large extent the property you are playing at.

Compared to other locations, Tunica still tends to lean that way I think. I may have got a free room night at Roadhouse because I was drunkenly grinding next to a 7Star once and chatting to him for hours...lol The 7Stars got asked by a host and requested nothing at 5 am and neither of us had got 4 Deuces on the formerly available 99.96% Deuces unit at that point... I asked for the room comp (I paid maybe $40 for it) because I spent no time in the room. My expected loss without error was a lot lower than that though (less than a dollar; 200 Tier points). It took awhile, but I eventually got it comped. But because of that gesture and installation of some Double STP machines, we have returned to that property a lot, and have likely made up for that comp in our subsequent 6 to 8 trips...lol Hoping to go again in the next month or so.

Unfortunately, I think Roadhouse possibly has yanked all the 9/7 TDB machines. I will double check next trip. But 5-play "Build A Wheel" at Horseshoe with 9/6 DDB at quarters would be a nice high variance game for you as well (~99.15% return with a $7.50/round bet at the quarter level).

Did you hire a new one? I am curious if there is a decent casino host in AC. Your experience is identical to ours, including the being out sick. The only difference was ours was a female host. If not, I was going to ask if the one you fired had moved to Caesars. They must train them all to be aloof, non committal, and in general to hope you give up and go away.

If you have a good host at your home casino, ask that host how they are compensated. If they get some credit for arranging trips for you to other CET properties, then let that host do it for you.

My wife seems to think the reason the host at Caesars was so inattentive was because both of the trips to AC this year were on junket flights. Therefore the company that put together the trip evidently gets credit for our play. That may explain why when we made our first trip to AC in May, between the two of us, we accumulated over 20,000 tier points, we are still not getting any free play from AC.

This last trip, we did not play nearly as much, mainly b/c we played hard on our first trip and were not rewarded on this trip with some free play or with half-way decent treatment from our host.

On our first trip we were put in a suite in the ocean tower. Not their best but similar to a petite suite at Caesars in Vegas. My wife spoke with this host no less than 3 times over the summer requesting one of the better suites ( the ones at the end of the hall facing the ocean ending in 01 or 02). She assured us she would try.

Because we played as hard as we did on our first trip we did not think this was an unreasonable request. When we got to Caesars we were put in a lower floor corner room in the Centurion tower. You could see the ocean but to be perfectly honest we had a better view of the top of the casino.

I was told some months ago that you cannot even hire a host in AC ... you have to be "invited" to have one. Since then I have used a couple of remote hosts at the Caesars central hosting HQ in Rhode Island with varying degrees of success. I still do not have a designated host in AC despite being Tier II Diamond last year and being well on my way to similar status this year.
