I believe the silver membership was created as an option to those who did not want to go "Gold."
But what about the group hug?
Edited to add that I don't think the comment about having the guts to step up by today's daily contest leader is real good. I know it may have been made in jest but the person should know that winning a contest, whether it be a daily or monthly, is PURE LUCK. So stepping into the leader's spot has more to do with luck than stepping up if you have the guts.
It took me a while to figure out what you were talking about todays contest leader saying "having the guts to step up". I finally went to the leaderboard and saw it. You are correct Tedlark. In this persons case it is 99% luck. The only decision they made to impact the result was the game they chose.
For those of you that are non gold members the hand that put todays leader on top was drawing 4 deuces with a 8 times pay multiplier on the bottom. I congratulate them but they did not have to be so snarky.
I have never had that type of a draw before. When I do, I hope it is at the casino. I have had about 100 Royal Flushes (at the casino) in the 3 years I have been playing video poker but I am still waiting to get my first dealt Royal Flush.

Chattycatty, we would love to offer contests or more opportunities for Gold members as it would be a big draw for membership as you say, but we cannot do so due to regulations. As it stands now, nobody can say they pay to compete in these contests, because they could decide to play for free instead if they wanted. Rather, Gold members are paying for additional features and in my opinion a much better experience while competing in the contests as well as the rest of the site (if you haven't tried Training Mode, it would be worth your while). We could do Gold-only contests, but only if there were no prizes at stake (which is a lot like the challenges and daily top scores already available).Wish it didn't have to be that way, and it's always possible the laws will change. There have been a lot of stories hinting at that lately.

So you are telling me that regulations preclude you from giving a few extra games to Gold members? I don't get it. There are enough extra perks to justify the 25cents a day it costs to be a Gold member. I think there are enough non paying members that with the right type of marketing nudge, you could double your Gold membership.
By the way I use training mode all the time. My only complaint with it is that it does not show you how big of a mistake you make when you make an occasional blunder. They show you that on freeslots.com. They only have single hand games and not as many types of games. I like your site much better and am happy to pay the 25 cents a day for the return it gives me.

Billyjoe I can give you a few days worth of Gold membership to this site when you come to Chicago, I'll just buy one candy bar instead of my normal two. By the way, Walgreens has Snickers and M&M's on sale right now for .49 each.
