Never visited AC, but it wouldn't shock me if 97% was close. Most of the casinos with non-smoking sections are afterthoughts. In my experience, 90%+ of the machines are in the smoking section.

Are you sure about 90%+ being accurate Vman?

These are round numbers. Mohegan Sun has between 5 and 6 thousand total machines. I am sure no more that 1,000 are video poker. It is probably less than that. I think there are only about 60 vp machines in non smoking areas and those areas are not even walled off. Some day soon I will count them all. Since I am there in the middle of the night, it will be easier to do.

This is actually an ADA violation as casinos (including on Indian Reservations under Title III of ADA are bound to follow the law) are required to accommodate those whose disabilities preclude inhaling tobacco fumes.

I'm no lawya, but in all fairness to defenders of tribal sovereignty I'm far from certain that's so, unless the tribe voluntarily submits to ADA. Fond du Luth, which is on land in Duluth city ceded to the tribe, doesn't have any nonsmoking section to my knowledge; one can smell the secondhand smoke well into the parking ramp.

Personally, the aroma of exhaled cigarettes is one of the things that define the casino experience for me; as long as I don't know what to do with myself on a rainy Sunday afternoon I'll have no desire to live forever; and if avoiding all secondhand (or firsthand for that matter) smoke would add 3, 5 years to my life between the ages of 35 and 45 instead of at the end of it I might be interested.

It's close in many places I think. Horseshoe Hammond has only 8 non-smoking units I think out of a few hundred. My local casinos have 20 or so each.

Hell does four winds even have a non smoking section? I've never noticed.

I haven't found one but I haven't been looking either. I just figured: "meh."I did come across a no smoking section once at Treasure Island in Minnesota that was really small and the slots still gave out gum and tobacco.

Like most casinos, 4 Winds has some single line Game Kings, across the hall from the main casino.

Gold Strike in Tunica has a bunch of VP in their new non-smoking area on the 2nd floor. Best game offered in the non-smoking area is 9/5 JOB. They also have a few table games: BJ and Mississippi Stud if I recall correctly.

I played up there, Craig, on my last Tunica visit. I could not understand, however, why they put the non-smoking section on the 2nd floor, with a HUGE opening to the first floor right behind the machines. All the smoke from down below just rises upstairs.
