Double the operating cost, but not doubling the revenue. Many people from Atlanta will just start going to the new place instead. It still may be profitable to them to build it, but they should have tried to build in the new location from the beginning if it's closer to Atlanta.

I am sure EDog knows more of the history than I, but Harrah's Cherokee did not start out they way it is now. The Cherokee reservation is there, and they started with a bingo hall. What is now their wonderful golf course (managed by Troon Golf), Sequoyah National, was the tribe's farm land. Growing into a casino/hotel/resort, run by Caesars, took many years.
While Cherokee does get many guests from Atlanta, it is also a wonderful vacation spot, which draws clientele from all over. I think the new location in Murphy will take some business, but it will also attract new Atlanta customers that had previously felt Cherokee was too far away.

Yeah, when I was in Atlanta, I was basically one of those people. I went to Cherokee once. Didn't go back. Went to Tunica twice while in Atlanta if that tells you anything. Also PokerStars was operating in the US at the time too, so I got plenty of gambling in at home... If I was still in Atlanta, I would def. occasionally drive to Murphy.
