Why would I need a Casino Host ?
I will soon hit the top level of the rewards program at a PNG property . This level includes a "Personal Casino Host". Can someone clue me in on what this is all about please ?? I play in a city with only one casino, so I have no idea what or how a host would be beneficial to me. What do I need a host for ?? All tips, suggestions, etc, appreciated .

It depends on the property, but often a Casino host can be beneficial. Even though I do not play there that often, I have a host at the local Seminole Hard Rock in Tampa. I am making a trip to South Florida, and need overnight lodging. My local host arranged a comp room for me at the Hard Rock in South Florida, even though I do not play there.
As far as Vegas or AC hosts, they are very valuable in making dinner, show, spa and golf reservations. They are also the way to get comped on anything for your play.

They can do a lot of little things that the computer generated promos may neglect or miss. For instance, on your birthdy, they may place a substantial comp in your account. They will get you better seats for shows, sometimes block out a special room for you with a good view etc., etc., etc. Sometimes if they are hooked up with the marketing department, they will call you and let you know what special offers or promotions the casino is running too. All designed of course to get you there and keep you there as long as possible.

In addition to the little things that can make a trip memorable, a GREAT HOST gave us the best comp ever.
It was a round trip flight from Mesa Gateway to Las Vegas in Gary Loveman's new at the time, Falcon 2000. That was an experience we would have never had without our host, and one we'll never forget.
Plus when we thought it couldn't get any better, we hit for $20k upon arrival, and another $30k after dinner and a show.

I appreciate all the replies, but really, I am still clueless on the how & why of this host thing. I mean, is there something I am entitled to by getting a host ? Something I should ask for ? I am very new to casino gambling on a regular basis, about 6-9 months. I only decided to learn VP when the local racetrack closed for good after the casino opened, so really, I have no clue. Very little info online as well. Can I trust the host to explain it all to me ?

I have a host at the Borgata. According to my mailers and offers on the Borgata's website I shouldn't get weekends. So, I do ALL room reservations thru him and he gives me the weekends. Atlantic City has the airshow in the summer Several years ago the Borgata had the airshow cocktail & dinner party thanks to him we were able to go. He was able to arrange for us to go. There have been several shows we saw that we were sold out but we were able to get comp tickets. The casino has private parties that you might be able to go too. New Years is coming up. Are they having a party. Are you usually invited? Casino Host can do those extra things for you.

Hey JIMDUECE'SWILD:
My wife and I only play at Borgata when in AC (at least once a month, however, we never were given a host and when I inquire about a host, usually get the runaround. Could you provide me with the name of a host? We never get anything from the Borgata except the usual mailers and free rooms during the week only. It's as if we don't matter because we only play VP and a little Blackjack.
Thanks for any help,

I had wondered the same thing, why use the host. But the last trip to Vegas I contacted the host to book the room for us. We were very pleased to check in to a suite that the host had arranged. Had we made the reservation the usual way we would have had a standard room.

I will humbly add that were you to have a line of credit for marker draws, that this will help you in securing a quality room, over and above what you may have booked, casino host notwithstanding. You may have booked a standard room in priceline, for example, paid up front, and gotten an extraordinarily low price. Yet, that price at check-in time will be ignored, in some cases, were you to have a preestablished gambling privilege with a Casino. All these factors, taken into account, as a whole, will enhance your overall experience.
