I am tempted to pounce on that second grade comment but I think I will let it go for now.

I was told several times at Caesars and showboat by both a host and the front desk that they are "not allowed" to comp the nightly room charge/fee, that the state requires everyone to pay it.
Well, all I can tell you is, they get it done somehow. On the few occasions that I have visited Caesars AC, since I know they are a "Reward Credit first" CET location, I buy out all my Reward Credits with things like Gas Cards (you will always need gas) prior to checkout, carrying no balance. I know that they didn't get any tax or fee from there.
I remember when Illinois, specifically Joliet, began having to charge patrons $5 a visit, which was a state-imposed casino visit fee. Show your 7Stars card, and you were exempt from that charge.
In Vegas, many properties carry 'resort fees', which cover things like internet availability and local phone calls. To date, the number of times that I have been accessed that fee..... NADA
Now, that doesn't make me better than anyone else. But when you reach a certain Tier level with the bigger casino groups, they do take care of things.
I could just imagine a 'whale' being brought into Caesars AC on a private jet, but being told that he needed to pay his room fees before he could leave.
The message here is - it can be done.

On both trips this year we had our room fees paid for as well. We paid attention to our RC balance to make sure they were not deducted from them. I don't know if it was our host that did it or that it was automatic because we were 7 star. In either case we were pleasantly surprised.

At the Gold Coast in Vegas the fee is 9.99 per night... My two free nights they said they couldn't charge that fee but they could on my husbands 2 nights that he got for a low price.... the resort fee is for internet, pool, a one cup coffee pot in the room and a shuttle to the strip and oh ya the pool and gym... well need less to say the 4 days we were there is was to cold and windy to do anything outside... so my one cup coffee pot cost me 10 bucks a day LOL

Mohegan Sun is Ct charges a 15 dollar per night facilities fee. On comped rooms, they absorb it and I guess they pick up the taxes if any as well. Most of us are finding their new use or lose monthly choice credits system confusing and cumbersome. It is nice getting those 800 per month choice credits for tier 3 though. This is in addition to play earned points. I just wish the choice credits could be used for everything, not just rooms, the buffet, lounge access, and shows.
