Looking for New Places to Play VP

Post by FloridaPhil »

We are thinking about another Spring VP Road trip and are wondering about new places to visit.  We've done the Vegas thing and it's not to our liking.  We love the Mississippi Coast and Colorado.  Don't care too much about the odds; just want a nice relaxing place to play where they treat you good.  Haven't been to Atlantic City in years and never been to Foxwoods.  Any suggestions?

I still like Mohegan Sun in Ct. even though I complain about the little stuff here on the site. The grounds, casino, and rooms are beautifu. Plenty of food and drink choices. I know all of the concirege folks and all of the employees are very nice. If you are coming at the very least, they will hook you up with a couple of buffet tickets. If you come and I happen to be going too around that time, I would be able to get you folks into the lounge and maybe even some show tickets. Lots of other stuff to do to in Ct. I guess everyone likes to promote their state, but I would recommend not coming in the winter. I have had enough already and it is only December!!!

The East Coast sounds good for the summer.  We could drive north to Cherokee NC, stay a few days then head over to Atlantic City and Connecticut.  What's good in Atlantic City?  How about on the way or back?

A car trip that I have taken Phil, to do some casino hopping, is: Biloxi to Tunica to Metropolis Illinois to Joliet Illinois to Horseshoe Hammond Indiana to Horseshoe Southern Indiana to Cherokee and home.

And to add to billyjoe's list don't forget that there is also Hollywood in Lawrenceburg, IN (near the IN/KY/OH border and there is now a Horseshoe in Cincinatti and that is only about a 20 minute drive from Hollywood Lawrenceburg. Plus Toledo also has a casino now too.

I'd personally skip Metropolis, but the rest of that is pretty good.

Highly recommend the Isle of Capri in Cape Giradeau, Mo., it's on the banks of the Mississippi River in a very nice old style town. They treat you great there and the vp is very good, so are the slots.

I made a swing through Wisconsin on a business trip a few years ago.  Pretty place.  I hit a big jackpot on a Triple7 slot, so it was fun. On a road trip I try to plan a route where the casinos are in line about a day apart so we can stay at each one.   Thanks for the info.  Most of these I've never heard of.  I'll put them in a map and see what it looks like.  I'll be in Miami over the holidays visiting family.  I usually sneak over to the Hard Rock when the talk gets boring.  I've really been on a roll this year.  Hope it keeps up!
