Short drive to a casino?

OH BILLY, NOT TRUE. STORY OLDS, on Michigan Avenue, NEAR THE BOOM BOOM ROOM! now defunct (sorta like Trader Vics - what do I know, I was never there!)   GO GREEN! MSU SPARTANS! It figures that the largest Olds dealership would be located in capital city of Michigan where the Olds assembly plant was located and public tours were conducted.

Yeah, you are right....we used to dealer trade with Story from time to time.  Nice operation.  Our store was out of South Bend.  Ah, but no 442's were traded, lol.

Olds....
Not sure if this link was given since I did a quick scan.

This is one source we use when we travel around to find casinos.

Casino City Times:
http://us.casinocity.com/

We like that they list casino general information and web link, and nearest casinos.

Olds,We don't have any in Texas except one in Eagle Pass which is a Native American casino with only class II videopoker so I won't play there.  The closest casinos to me are 5 and 1/2 hours away.  Much too far away for a day trip and not much fun in the winter during the short days.I take advantage of Beau's offers maybe twice a year and try to get to Las Vegas every other year.  Besides that, not much "real" gambling for me.Given the long-term losses we all encounter, probably not a bad thing.  Thank goodness for videopoker.com.

Opaline,
We need to make arrangements to meet in Lake Charles. Let me know if you can make a long weekend trip and we'll help set up a host room.

Would love for us Texas players to get together occasionally.

While living in Las Vegas, I was 4 blocks from Green Valley Ranch, and about 10 miles from the strip. It was great to get in the car and before you knew it, you were there.

Back in Albuquerque, NM, again - it's a short 10 minutes to the nearest casino, Sandia - my favorite.

There's actually several around within a half hour (think traffic and crazy drivers). Also there's Santa Fe about an hour away with several - my favorite up there is Buffalo Thunder.

Living close to a casino is nice, but sometimes gets expensive. I read up here once someone say that $400 cup of free coffee... I prefer Las Vegas, but it's only 600 miles away.

Happy New Year - and wishing everyone royals.

LuckyLarry,Thank you for your kind offer.  Would love to meet you in Lake Charles.  I'm going to Biloxi next week and probably won't gamble again until sometime in the summer.  But I can definitely do a long weekend (especially over a holiday one such as Memorial Day).  We'll have to discuss more as we get closer to the summer (and see how I do in Biloxi).I'm thrilled that you started the New Year off with wins.  You and SweetPea have the best time in Lake Charles.  I would go more often but it is a 5 1/2 drive from Austin so I don't like making it by myself but I will certainly try to meet you there.

Sweet C and I make our 2 hour trip more enjoyable by going a route that by passes most of I-10 and through lots of rice fields and a National Wildlife area. We pass the time counting "hawks" we can see from the road. Love the winter months when the Canadian geese come in and the migratory hawks numbers swell into the tens. Best trip was an amazing 61 hawks in a 40 mile stretch.

Love New Mexico!  Seems like there's a casino on every block!  If I ever retire to Video Poker heaven, it would be one of my choices.
