AC comps

Post by hijack »

Just came back from a Sunday trip to AC.   Wen't to Bally’s first.  Very nice new machines.  Lots of Full pay machines too.   I could only find 9/6 J or B in dollars.   But they have only about half of the new Vidio poker machines up and running.    The rest were still being set up and were roped off.   It was easy to find the full pay machines  (9/6 J or B )  because these machines all had stickers on them that said you get one credit for every 20 dollars of play.   The short pay machines were still 10 dollars coin in for one credit.   Then went to Harrah’s  they used to have only 3 9/6 J or B machines.  Now I counted at least 15. All brand new full pay machines.   The full pay manhines  have stickers on them that says , on the dollar machines 25 dollars coin in for one credit and on the 25 cent machines 50 dollars for one credit.   At Caesars and  Showboat  with the old machines its still 10 dollars for one credit.  But I bet that does not last for long.   Very disappointing,  not much incentive to play there any more.

I just played with the bus money.  They gave me a $30 in slot play for my $35 bus ticket.  Plus they gave me $5 in slot coupons in the mail for all 4 Caesars casinos. It was not much but I came home with more then I stared with.  I just went there for the day with a friend and had dinner at the diamond club at Caesars.
I have already over 25000 credits for diamond next year and was not about to lose any more money this year for credits that would not help me. My friend just pays penny slots and thinks I am a real high roller because I get to eat and drink for free at the diamond club.
It was a scouting   trip for me to check out the new machines.  Now I and trying to figure out the best play for next year.  Hopefully Caesar’s and Showboat with keep there 9/6 machines at $10 for 1credit long enough so that I can make Diamond, again before there rates go up too.

Hi Jack, hijack!   I cannot believe we actually have a poster here named "hijack", good luck avoiding Tedlark's wrath as you "hijack" every thread you post in, lol....  But seriously Mr Hijack, let me ask you this:  Which Diamond Club in AC do you prefer of the four available, Caesars', Ballys', Showboat or Harrahs'?????    I personally think its a toss up between Caesars and HArrahs diamond clubs in terms of which is "best".....but then Again, in Atlantic City, its hard to beat BALLYs' diamond club for the HUGE amount of room and space to sit, the number of TVs in there and the HUGE bar in the Ballys AC Diamond Club Lounge.....wouldnt you agree?    But in terms of food quality, the Caesars Diamond club and HArrahs tend to be better than the others. second Question:   Regarding The "full pay" machines you saw, namely the 9/6 JOB which gyp you on the comp side by requiring $25 coin in for Tier/Reward Credits.....are they ONLY available at denominations of $1 and up???     You did not see any other LOWER denominations, like 50 cents or lower???    I find this disconcerting for a lot more reasons than just the reduced comps, especially in light of the Atlantic City predilection of treating its VP machines as simply another form of "slots....but, IF the casinos are reducing the comps earned on a 9/6 JOB $1 VP game, then perhaps they are also leaving the game alone in terms of allowing the paytable to dictate the return percentage, so that a player actually gets long term play results which resemble typical mathematically correct distributions, and NOT long ridiculous stretches of numerical aberrations where you receive hand after hand after hand of duds.

DaBurglar you really are a jerk.

Hijack you have a good strategy to end the year; if you have enough credits in the bank and have earned Diamond status for next year then why not just sit back until January 1st and begin earning credits for 2015? I, on the other hand, amd sitting right at 38,800 credits and I'm going this Saturday to Harrahs Joliet, IL. If I earn the 1,200 credits to get to the next Diamond level then great for me. If I hit a good streak and earn some bonus tier credits then I should be in good shape.

Good luck to you in 2014.

To Tedlark

Good luck on your next trip.  The only befit you get with 40,000 credits is a free trip for 4 days (No airfare). To get this 4 day trip you have to contact a host at the casino you want to go to and they will book it for you. And you have to take this trip by March 31, 2014.   I will be hitting the casinos early this year.  Here in AC it will be a 14 x comp day on Jan 1st.  And every Thursday in January it will be a 10 x comp day.   With the bonus for getting 2500 credits in one day I should get to 40,000 in no time.   My grand kids love AC in the summer and I want to get the 4th of July for my 4 day stay.

Caesar’s does have the best Diamond club in AC.   My friends are always impressed when I take them there.  The food I usually pretty good and the view of the boardwalk and beach can’t be beat.   Harrah’s is also good but I spend most of my time at the boardwalk. Bally’s can be hit or miss as far as food goes.  Most times I check out the menu at both Caesar’s and Bally’s before I decide which one to go to.

I did not see any 25 Cent machines when I was at Bally’s.  But it looked like most of the new machines were still being set up at the other end of the casino and were roped off.   Hopefully they will have some there.  Over at Harrah’s they did have more 9/6 machines then they did before.  Before they only had 3 now I saw at least 15, maybe more that I did not find.    The only thing is on the dollar machines at Harrah’s  it was $25 coin in for one credit and on the 25- 50 cent machines it was  $50 coin in for one credit.  The short pay machines were still $10 coin in for 1 credit.

thanks for the info hijack, that was actually real helpful (but also depressing!    the 25 cent machines require 50 bucks coin in!!!   jeeez, whats the friggin point!) I must admit I am confused about the 14X and 10X multiplier days at the Caesars properties in AC.....I thought those multipliers only applied to the Reward credits (i.e. Caesars version of comp dollars.)    I did not know that they also multiplied your actual Tier credits, thus helping you vault up into higher tier levels very fast given the other bonuses they have for achieving tier points within a gaming day,,,,what am I missing here????  Either way hijack, are you going to be in AC during the first 10 days of January, 2014????   if so, allow me to invite you to meet up for a drink or sandwich or some caramels.....I will be wheeing up and down the boardwalk when not playing in real poker tournaments at Borgata and Harrahs (and possibly a warm up tourney at the Trop)

The Multiplier does only apply to rewards credits,  but the bonous credits do apply to you tier score.   For example if on the 1st if I did manage to get 2500 tier credits i would also be given the 5000 bonous tier credits, for a total of 7500 for the day.  I would get 2500 reward credits that day, plus 10 days latter they put into your accound 14x2500 which is another 35000 for a total of 37500 for that day.  Which is 375 comp dollars.   Even if you do have a losing day (most likley) you still get somthing for it.
I'm just hoping to find some of the old $10- for 1 credit machines. before caesars and showboat upgrade there VP machines.
On the 1st I am planing on playing at showboat all day.  But i will be staying at showboat on wed the 8th to take advantage of the 10 x comp day on Thrusday the 9th  Maybe I and catch you on Wednesday.

I will look for you on Wednesday the 8th in the Showboat, at the bank of 8 machines that have the near-fullpay games (9/6 JOB, 8/5 Bonus, 9/7 DB, etc.)    You know which ones I am talking about?   on the mainfloor near the stairs across from the Players club desk.  8 machines of 25 cent to $1 denom, spaced as two blocks of four machines face to face.....On Wednesday the 8th I will be at Resorts, two doors down from Showboat (and connected via the Taj, if you know how to avoid going outside in the cold!  )    Look for a dude in a all Black Racing chair with a shaed head and most likely a UCONN t-shirt or sweater, drinking hot chocolate or bottled water (no booze.)  Tuesday and Thursday I will be in Poker Tournaments at Borgata.
