ko king..For me, it is the atmosphere. Having lived in So. Calif for 40 years, Laughlin and Vegas were about the same mileage for me, but ALWAYS preferred Laughlin. A small town on the river where you can just sit and relax. Las Vegas is just action all the time and for some, thats what they want, but I like to cool my jets after awhile and Laughlin is just a great place to do it in. I agree with the comments about Harrah's, but it is just fun to gamble and sit and watch all the people out on the river, freezing their feet off! Will be going back this month on the 28 for 5 days and look forward to it. I hope you have a great time.

Laughlin was good when some places had fpdw like Colorado belle, otherwise it is a good place to relax with low priced rooms less crowds. enjoy

Once again thanks to everyone for the info and advice, the trip is booked for the 26th this month and I've been assured we will have a very nice room, more than likely a suite. Turns out I'm a 7 star player, whatever that means.

We've just returned home from Laughlin.

Harrah's has, indeed, replaced most of their VP inventory with new machines. Thankfully, for us, the games we have been playing there are still available, i.e., 50 play 5c bonus deuces wild (98.8%), and triple play 25c deuces wild (98.91%).

There are three 50 play machines along the river wall in the non smoking casino that have the bonus deuces game (there's other games on them as well). There are 10 3/5/10 play 25c or 50c machines in the video poker alcove in the main casino, and one more on a carousel in the walkway between the non smoking area and the main casino that have the deuces game, along with several other game choices.

If you like to play 8/5 bonus poker, you can find it on 4 single line machines in the non smoking casino, ($1,$2 or $5 denomination) located along the wall facing the parking lot, or at several machines of higher denomination ($5,$10,$25) in the high limit slot area.

The new machines are very nice to play. They are comfortable to sit at, and all have volume and speed controls.

While temperatures in Laughlin are warming up quickly, we found it is still quite cool early in the morning, and in the evening. And, if it gets windy as it did on a couple of days last week, it does not feel as warm as the thermometer suggests it should, particularly if you're on the water taxi.

I would be surprised if you did not get a suite.

Good luck!

All the old machines at Harrahs in this area are gone and so is the $2 denomination I like to play. Hopefully I can can some $2 DDB or TDB at one of the casinos. I don't know how long I will remain a 7- Star because I don't play a lot of $1 denom, I can still find the $2 denom at other casinos so if Harrahs doesn't add that denom to the menu they won't be my first choice.

The four machines in the non smoking casino that I mentioned do have $2 video poker. I don't know if they have either TDB or DDB, since I was looking for 8/5 bonus, and didn't check all the other games on them.
