All CET properties do things differently. Why, I have no idea. Our home property gives us unlimited food and beverages so we never have to use our rc's and can save them up and eventually cash them in for free play at 1.25 to 1. It sounds like your home property does things the same way.

Laughlin, while we always are given a suite, and a nice welcoming basket in the room, is stingy when it comes to food. Because we have been going there once or twice a year for the last several years we now are given a $100 food voucher. Vegas and Reno / Tahoe are pretty much the same way as was Atlantic City when we went there.

I do not know why CET does some of the things they do but I am not going to use any of my own money or any of my reward credits at an overpriced steakhouse. Our strategy at CET is to keep the losses at a minimum and get as much complimentary stuff back in return. Airfare, lodging, food, concerts, etc. Most of the stuff is not mentioned to you when you get your 7 star package. We have had to find out about many of the perks by visiting with other 7 star members. The website 7starinsider.com lists many but not all of the property specific perks you are given for being a 7star.

This year only you get 2 7star trips. Plus you get a $750 air reimbursement for reaching level three of diamond. Plus you get of course your $500 celebration dinner and a $100 freebie for reaching the 15,000 tier level along the way. Much of this is confusing and not made clear but is available because we have cashed in on all of it. I am expecting by the end of this month we will get clarification on what we can expect for the tier credits we earn in 2014. IMO this should have been laid our for us in early January but they always procrastinate and make their announcements at the end of March.

When we travel to CET properties we like to use their diamond and 7 star lounges if they are half way decent. I would rank them in order of best to worse of the ones we have been to: 1. Caesars AC 2. Bally's AC 3. Caesars Windsor 4. Harrah's New Orleans 5. Harrah's Laughlin 6. Harvey's / Harrah's Lake Tahoe 7. Horseshoe Tunica 8.Caesar's 7star lounge 9. Horseshoe Bossier city (home property) 10. All Vegas diamond lounges 11. Reno Harrah's. I don't like the Vegas diamond lounges that much because they are only open a couple hours in the evening and are always crowded.

Hope this helps.
What started as just CET AC is now spreading through most of the CET properties - TR credits first. I just 'acquired' a new Caesars LV host (my last one had been fired, probably for giving me too much ), and the new host made it clear to me on my last trip - TR credits first,  before any host comping, regardless of your gaming trip results. I remember the host I used to have in Tunica, who told me that, as a 7Star, "the answer was always "yes" - now what's the question? "  Man, are those days gone.

All the property locations have their own 'rules', but at least for Vegas, and certainly in Biloxi, they are making MGM properties, where I am NOIR,  look much more attractive for the high tier player.

Those high variance games such as DDB and TDB eat my lunch too. I can seldom beat them even while playing for free at home on videopoker.com. My favorite game, if its paying is DDB. If you are not getting your fair share of 4oak's DDB and TDB will destroy you.

My last decent DDB session was at Paris Las Vegas in December. I found a triple play machine. Within an hour I drew quad 4's on bottom and drew 2 out of 3 kickers to go with them. Also in the same session I ended up with two more sets of 4's and in general seemed to average 4oak's every 100 hands or so instead of every 1000 hands like they normally seem to show up.

KO, you and Damule may be onto something in Laughlin. My wife reminded me on that same trip how bad I did at Laughlin. The night before leaving to go to Vegas no matter what game I played I could not hit anything. That is the only experience I have at Laughlin with the new machines. On our last night in Laughlin I bounced around again with no luck even playing some regular slots. There was a lady I visited with in the high limits room that got 3 or 4 hand pays playing 10 handed DDB. I may throw a little at that machine when we go back in the middle of April.

On a more positive note my wife found a $25 pink diamond machine in the high limit section that she did real well on. She hit it for a $8000 handpay. Thankfully she called me. I left her with $500, went and paid off our markers, and went to the room and put the rest in the safe. It was on the last night of our trip.

The moral of the story is that it only takes one good hit to make your trip. It can come at any time during your trip but I definitely prefer it to come at the beginning of the trip rather than towards the end.

One thing that surprised me about Laughlin was the crowd, Tunica would kill to get that many folks on a weekday. At the Harrah's in Tunica they play music everytime a jackpot is hit, at one of the other casinos I go to they announce every single handpay. I know at the Harrahs in Laughlin I never heard any music, announcements or saw one single handpay/jackpot in the four days I was there which seems crazy to me given the fact that the place was packed. Now with that said it's pretty obvious that Harrah's Laughlin doesn't play the jackpot tune or announce when a jackpot is hit but geez how could we not see a jackpot in four days. I'm not sure how many people were on the plane coming home but my guess would be at least 200 and when the stewardess ask if there were any winners a loud "no" was all we heard. One fellow commented that Harrah's Laughlin gaming revenue was down another 3% last year so there was no way they were going to let anybody win. there was a couple of guys I was talking to before we left Laughlin who said that as bad as Laughlin was it didn't compare to a place called Council Bluffs. If I do ever go back to Laughlin I'll be very greedy with my money and I'll be sure to take my golf clubs. Good talking to you maybe we'll get the chance to meet someday, let me know when you plan on going to Tunica again.

While I'm sure the casinos know more about what they're doing than myself the corporate mentallity confuses me sometimes. I mean I understand revenue might possibly be down but my dad always said you catch more flies with sugar than vinegar so it would seem to me cutting back and slashing paytables would be the last thing you would want to do.

In those 8 hours I played about 5,000 hands at $5 per and lost almost $3500. I saw 3 low quads in that time and agree with you that I have never seen such a drought in my life with video poker.

FWIW, 3 quads or less in 5000 hands at DDB should happen in 1 out of 432 sessions on average of that length. Not very "DaBurglar-esque" here. Still sucks though.

KO, I think the reason Laughlin is so crowded is due to several reasons. First, it is a warmer climate and a lot of older people love to go there. Especially on the junket flights. Secondly, even though it seems to be out in the middle of nowhere, it is only about a 4 hour drive from heavily populated Southern California. We always see people checking in and lugging coolers to their rooms. Its also more laid back than other gambling destinations. It is definitely a place to get a rent car and explore the surrounding areas: Oatman, Vegas, Lake Havasu, London Bridge, the Grand Canyon, and countless other places we have never been to.

In regards to Tunica, Is that your home CET property? We usually go to Tunica one or 2 times a year but are not as excited as before since they removed all of the premium pay tables from Tunica Roadhouse. My wife likes the slots at Horseshoe there but is there any decent VP left in Tunica since they made the changeover to the new machines.?

Tunica is my home CET property but I'm finding myself at The Fitz or Hollywood more now, I used to go to The Roadhouse all the time but I've only been there once since the machine changes.

Last time I went in early January, 9/6 JoB still existed on the "old" game kings at Harrah's near Dunkin Donuts for 50c, $1. Two other 99.5%+ games on these units too. If you want to be more daring there's 9/5 White Hot Aces (99.57%), or if you want to be really crazy "full pay" Shockwave (99.55%). The fact that they were still there in January might mean they are "staying" for awhile, dunno for sure though.

Also 35/8/5 Bonus (99.66%) in the high limit room at the $5 level.

And at the time, there was no signs saying crap like $25 a tier credit either.

Roadhouse still has the penny 9/6 JoB progressive too, but that is only a $1 coin-in per hand.

All three properties have 9/7 DB and 9/6 DDB at the dollar and $5 levels all over the place with the new units.

Might be going there later this month. If so, I'll be looking to see if they are still around.

What are you playing at Hollywood? I didn't even think that place had more than 8/5 DDB unless you're playing 3 play at the $5 level.    At least all the CET properties in Tunica offer 9/6 DDB at the dollar level at least. Even at the bar now!

I prefer to play $2 denomination and Harrahs only has one machine left that offers that, Roadhouse doesn't even have one. Fitz offers several machines with $2 denom DDB and all of them are 9/6.

Yeah, it's pretty dumb they skip the $2 level on all the machines. Almost all the new game kings Tunica ordered have nearly the all the same programming: same games/same paytables/same denominations, etc. I think the only ones that are different are in the Harrah's Tunica high limit room.

Interesting posts on how many people including myself are finding our returns in that 85-88% range. Hmmmm...makes me wonder since that is in the allowable range for slot returns and at least in Ct. and many other places. Slot return stats and vp are lumped together in CT. and I suspect most places as well. ( the public record portion). Are they really using true RNG programs or some sort of RNG clone that allows them to fall within the guidelines no matter what the paytables say???? They will of course pay according to the paytable, but are other things removed and replaced from the RNG program? I would love to know that and if that is the case, as much as I love vp, it will be back to craps for me.
