DeBurglar mentioned Boyd properties....

Royal Flush mentioned Orleans and Gold Coast, again Boyd properties.

These guys are spot on the money. Boyd will flood you with free rooms, food and tournaments. If you go downtown you have three Boyd properties:

Main Street and they have full pay JB at the bar and also 10-7 DB by the craps table.

California Casino and they have nickel machines everywhere and also 10-7 DB near the downstairs bar.

The 3rd downtown property is the Fremont and they have full pay pickem.

You can catch a free shuttle from Ballys to take you to Gold Coast and Orleans. Another Boyd property is Sams Town and they have a free shuttle to the strip and downtown and also have some full pay including deuces wild.

I am a low roller and never have to pay for anything from Boyds and get good gambling as well!

If you want to play video poker, stick with Boyd properties, PERIOD.If you want to stay on the strip..forget video poker and be prepared to just GAMBLE (with no care about return)That's the difference between Strip & DowntownStrip = People who don't care about gambling, but want Glitz.Downtown = People who care about gambling and not Glitz.

I guess I would be in the glitz category. This was my absolute worst gambling Vegas trip ever. I got waxed on virtually every machine I sat down at. I can't blame the paytables too much as I did find some decent ones: 9/5 ddb QQ at the Palazzo, 9/6 ddb at the TI on 50c single line and 9/5 Ux at the Quad. Among some others.

Very seldom could I put a $50 or $100 in a machine and double up, or even get to play very long. I never managed to hit a royal, or even a kicker hand on any 25c, 50c or $1 machine. I lost count of how many times I held a single ace playing 10 play and never paired up. Or how many times I put $100 in a 3play nickel QQ and didn't hit a single quad. Dream card was a complete bust. Shot my whole bankroll- and then some. I think that is enough crying for now.

On the bright side, TI gave us a room upgrade and dinner was always partially comped. Guzzled many "free" cocktails. As far as players clubs go, it seems that CET will welcome us back with some good offers. MGM told me that all my benefits expired and to reach Pearl status would require 25,000 points per year. But since we go to Vegas only once a year- that ain't gonna happen.

CET with a Total Rewards CC is the way to go IMO.
