KTxxx

Post by keithkeith »

I went to the casino with only $200 and $50 in coupons and was lucky enough to hit 4A on Triple Bonus for $1200 (and tax forms).  But this was now my bankroll to enjoy.  A couple hours later, I switched machines and was playing DDB where it presented me with KTxxx, the KT suited in clubs.  The draw button filled me up for the royal.  It surprised me because I had never hit a royal starting with just KT.  Any of you?

Interesting you should mention KT because just yesterday the player adjacent to me hit a RF with this hold. I had to bite my tongue as it was a short coin royal. I didn't know whether to congratulate him or console him.

I have hit to KT before at least once. In my case it was spades.

Right you are. In my case I play OEJs more than any other game and you hold suited KT over two unsuited faces and with any number of penalties. This also helps reduce the RF cycle time to under 40K hands.

And then, there's the occasional "accident". My wife was playing NSUD over at ACD right after playing some progressive NSUDs at Fiesta. She forgot not to hold the suited AQ without the added value of the progressive and hit a RF. Of course, I get all kinds of grief for this.

Any time you hit a royal flush with low odds on accident you are "super
smart" and it was the best play obviously. I guess that part is true
that it was the best play at that time, but it was still just lucky.
And you are probably more likely to hold those same bad cards later on
I bet even though you have bad chances.

No doubt about it. This is the same point I was making in another thread about getting lucky.

Aha! But if you look at the time, I said it first shadowman! I did see your note later and agree of course. I am guilty myself and that is why practice in VPFW has helped so much because even when I WANT to just go for something I sometimes see it is a really really bad move.  If it is very close then I think sometimes it is fine but I sure make some bad ones at times where the average win is much lower with my first play. That is usually because I change games and hold something that is close in one game but not good in the other. I know I need to stick to one game longer but I still just keep trying others.
