Crazy come back stories..
It seems as though most of my VP days are either feast or famine. I can only remember one day when things stunk all day and it turned around so dramatically. It happened about 5 years ago at the Beau Rivage in Biloxi. I was just starting to learn deuces and wasn't informed of the wild swings this game can take. I played max coin .50 all day and was sure I would get enough 4 deuce jackpots to keep me in the game. By 4:00 PM I was down about $1,000. This is a big loss for me in those days and I was pretty depressed. My wife came down from the room and suggested I go to the bar and have a break. I sat down at the bar, put $20 in the machine and hit the deuces wild button. Within a minute I hit 4 deuces for $250. That felt good so I cashed out, put $20 more in the machine at .50 a coin. You guessed it; I hit another quad deuce for $500. This was crazy, so I put in another $20 and went to dollars. Unbelievable as it seems I hit a $1,000 quad deuce. Nothing much happed after that, but I went to the room even for the day. Have you ever had a turn around like that?

Perhaps not exactly like that, but I've had some very up and down sessions.
Most recently, playing 10 line 25c 9/6 jacks or better, my first hour and a half of play was absolutely dreadful. I was down $1200, which represented about 10% of my coin-in. My wallet was empty, and I was ready to quit. Instead, I took some cashback, put another $200 in the machine, and continued to play.
There was a complete turnaround. Over the next hour or so, that $200 grew to $1500, and I ended the session up $100; same player, same machine, same game, vastly different results. There were, despite twice being dealt four to the royal (i.e. 20 misses) no royals - just tons of good hands, some of which were dealt.

It's not very often I make a comback, it does happen every once in a while for me. Most of my vp play is just like you said "feast or famine". If I could only do a better job knowing when it's a bad day maybe I could cut my losses but like I said every once in a while I make that comeback, just enough to keep me thinking it could happen.

I've had several good comebacks but I play a lot of VP. The one that sticks out to me is back in the day. It was on a bad day and I was down about $2,000 playing mostly dollars. I was walking out of the casino and right as I hit the door I decided to turn around and see if I had any free play on my card. Sure enough I had a little over $5, downloaded it to a .50 machine to get at least 2 hands first hand was a blank and the last hand ended in a .50 Royal.

Love it! Years ago, I had a similar thing happen to me. I played all day at the Tampa Hard Rock and had lost about $600. I always saved $5 for food on my way home, so I had a one $5 bill in my pocket. I hate to admit it, but I stopped and put my last $5 into a DDB dollar machine and hit the button. I drew 3 aces and got the forth one of the draw for $800. I would like to say I left the casino, but I played my winnings down to $500 and left a small loser. Now you can see why I play short coin quarters these days.

My two best comeback stories involve casino trips in 2002 and 2013. The 2002 trip I sat down at a Double Pay machine as it had just come out, I dropped $900.00 of my $1,000.00 bankroll and I decided that it was going to be a loser of a day for me. I was closing in on losing that last hundred when I got the magical dealt royal on the center line for $15,000.00. The 2013 trip I was playing a Dreamcard machine and I, again, was down $900.00 of my $1,000.00 grubstake. I got dealt quad 4's with a kicker and that put me back in the positive by $100.00. I told myself that I would play for a bit longer but lose no less than $300.00 of my own money. I then got dealt quad 4's again but only this time I went from .05 denom to .10 so it was a $2,000.00 hit for me. I got paid about 10 minutes later and I went back to playing and within 30 minutes I got dealt aces with a kicker for $4,000.00. I ended up hitting 2 more $1,500.00 handpays and walked out up almost $9,000.00.

Love these stories...thank you! About 8 years ago I went to Harrahs AC for a solo weekend. Had a $5K bankroll to use for the 3 days. First night there I got caught up in a Joker Poker progressive marathon. Had the worst machine in the bank...not one straight flush and very few 4 of a kinds and went through most of my bankroll in about 8 hours of grueling play. I still remember how angry I was at myself for squandering the money and made up my mind to just leave the next morning. Put in my last one hundred dollar bill...first hand was another garbage hand....held nothing and threw it out -- caught four 5's and the beautiful joker on the redeal. Progressive was at $5002.00 so I made $2 profit and was able to enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Great story and plus you had 2 bucks to tip the valet with.

Never use valet myself. They probably wouldn't even know how to drive my 5sp. I have seen and HEARD the jockeys many times as well as seen them walk across cars to get to other cars. Even if I had a 1972 Ford Pinto I wouldn't let them touch it. Great comeback stories though. I have 1 or 2 but nothing earthshaking.

Best comeback last year was a five day trip to Vegas, where we were down 4K and were playing our last hundred in a Deuces Wild $1 game. Hit the royal on the last day there, so left with a $60 profit for that trip.
