Delaware casinos

Post by kirbyk »

First of all I have the choice of three racinos in Delaware.  Dover Downs gets the most publicity but I wonder about paytables at all three.  Second, since there is a limit on payout for any slot in Delaware to something like 92%, is there any video poker at all at these racinos?  I mean, even 6/5 JOB is above that threshold. Thanks for any info.

According to "The Video poker Edge" by Linda Boyd the Delaware racinos have class II VP. That means they are all glorified slot machines and you will get the same payback if you never hold a single card. They might even have good looking paytables but the returns are probably 92% at best.

If you want real VP you will need to venture out of the state.

with those kind of games it is just better to play out of state or just play for fun on this site. The computer does not have a place to put money in. besides i like playing multi-strike super times pay here. It is to bad we can not find the dw games with full pay tables including the 50/100 play

Oh, well I guess my work schedule means I'll have to wait for the December trip to L.V. and just play VP for Winners for practice until then.  Live in VA and used to play online at Global Player until UIGEA a year ago.

I just noticed this topic was discussed on the vpfree forum. The following contradicts what I posted above:

"-- Delaware machines are reported to be fair and the VLT designation
of these machines reflects only that they are operated under state
lottery authority. State statute does stipulate a max payout of 95%,
but provides for the Lottery Director to approve higher payouts as an
exception. I have no experience with the machines in DE.

I'd be most comfortable with gaming in DE were IGT machines in use --
ultimately there is no mistaking an IGT LV compliant machine from an
IGT VLT -- the VLT's use a "genie" to correct a player's hold when
it's not consistent with the pre-determined win. (WA state casinos
use a "match card" mechanism to accomplish the same thing). If other
equipment is in use I'd be cautious." - posted on vpfree by Harry Porter on 8/10/07

I'm pretty sure the Dover Downs machines are IGT. Whatever they are, I've had two royals (each $1K), and three hands with four Aces and low fifth card ($500), over the two years I've been going over there. I just go once monthly or less. They only have 25 cent video poker, except for a few machines that play either 25 cents or $1.
The Dover Downs results are in contrast to AC where I never got a decent jackpot. Also in contrast to Reno where the jackpots were really plentiful, even two royals in a week.

Video poker in Delaware is a random deal.  There is some reported 9/6 JOB at Delaware Park in higher denominations.
