[QUOTE=chattycattty] Billyjoe, I thought Harrah's was shutting down the golf course also, or are you playing on a different course in Tunica?
Yeah - I think CET has ditched Cottonwoods when it closed Harrah's. I am actually playing in a Gold Strike (I'm a NOIR with MGM) golf event this weekend. Gold Strike just signed an agreement with a private course near Memphis, Ridgeway CC. This will be my first look at it.

The weather forecast doesn't look great, but maybe, we'll catch a break.

Nice golf course, it just rained cats and dogs here though and there's a chance for more tomorrow, I'll keep my fingers crossed for both of us because I'm wanting to plat tomorrow myself,

Billyjoe, enjoy your trip and hope you catch a break in in the weather but the forecast isn't positive. We are about 3 hours west of Memphis and today was the first day of 7 in a row that we are supposed to have rain! We had 70 - 80 mph winds today and lost 2 twelve year old Maples in our front yard.

My wife and I are staying at Gold Strike this weekend and maybe I'll get a chance to say hello.

Safe travels and good luck.

Robert

it's like when they ask for your number and can we call you,but they never do.does anybody ever win the money they offer to complete the survey?I am not being a smartass or a d*ck here......excellent point doris, I have often said the same thing myself given how many of those things I get and respond to......does anyone have anything else to add to this excellent point doris has made?     Does anyone know how we could go about finding out who does in fact "win" these rewards each month for surveys submitted??   Would the gaming agencies in any state have any pull or influence on this, since in effect it is related to the whole "gambling" endeavor......This is a good sub-topic to discuss....

I have no clue as to find out who may have won any of these drawings. I doubt anyone would have "any pull" or "influence" with these. But then again; video poker IS supposed to be random, right?

But then again; video poker IS supposed to be random, right? Thanks for sharing your OPINION...My question and issue extends well beyond the single survey that started this segue......many companies in many industries use this tactic and technique to elicit people's input (and time)......It is obvious, and without debate, that there are RULES that govern such activities as these surveys and contests.......I think I will ask this question to the New Jersey gaming authorities when I arrive there tomorrow (saturday June 8)....actually I will have to wait until Monday, but the good news is the summer office hours open to the public kick in as of last week (June 1)!       The office is located on Tennessee Avenue in a multi-building complex right on the Boardwalk itself!    But the entrance is not on the boardwalk, you have to go around the side.....I will let everyone know what I find out!!!

By all means share your findings with the group. How about Publishers Clearing House while you're at it? Maybe you can do a little research at the local public library in Atlantic City sometime Saturday or Sunday?  Trust me; through your posts we've all become quite familiar with where the entrance to the office on Tennessee Ave but thank youo for reminding us again.

Maybe you can do a little research at the local public library in Atlantic City sometime Saturday or Sunday?  Trust me; through your posts we've all become quite familiar with where the entrance to the office on Tennessee Ave but thank youo for reminding us again. Ed McMahon is dead, right?   why do you care about publishers clearing house?I cant guarantee I will be able to visit the Library, OR New Jersey Gaming office on Saturday (today) or Sunday......mainly because they are both CLOSED on Weekends.....the AC public library USED to be open on Saturdays but because of declining city tax revenues from the casinos this has been an area that is slashed!     So you can see just how far reaching the effects of AC having rigged its Video Poker can be!    Young kids who want to study on a Saturday morning cannot do so......some poor little kid in AC who dreams of being a doctor, perhaps a veterinarian or even a gynecologist, is denied his dream simply because of the GREED of companies like Caesars, and Trump, and so forth.....tragic.Even if the New Jersey office is closed there usually is someone on staff to answer phones pursuant to emergencies.......I could ring the bell incessantly and get them to let me in to ask my question(s) about Survey winners ...... Tedlark and Doris, get back to me ASAP in this thread if you want me to go the extra mile here and ring the doorbell on the NJ gaming office incessantly......I will do that for you guys, afterall I am here to help.

That reminds me of a funny line from a movie that starred John Wayne and William Holden called "The Horse Soldiers." The line went: "Ding-dong, ding-dong."
