Whatever you do, dont turn a profit!

Post by DaBurglar »

If you wind up having a profitable month in any of the remaining AC casinos (besides Borgata), you can expect to see a lot of your comps disappear until you start losing again.I've had several friends and family who also play in AC tell me this, but since I have rarely had a profitable month in AC, I never saw it firsthand.....until now.Seems in June I actually finished UP about 600 bucks at Trump Plaza, and now my monthly comp from the Plaza of about $100 free play is kaput.Anyone else seen or experienced similar happenings?

I'm up in Borgata and Harrah's, both properties stopped my free weekends, however, my slot dollars are the same in both.

-yankees4ever31wow  thanks for that input yankees4ever!   I was not aware Borgata also was being super stingy.   but I guess it stands to reason......will you be in AC at all between July 7 thru July 18???     Let me know in this thread and perhaps we can meet up in one of the casinos.PS --   I am also a Yankee fan so we have that in common as well, but I have to warn you, I am somewhat disgusted with the direction the Yankees have taken in the last 2-3 years.I wish Don Mattingly was managing the Yankees and not the Dodgers....he was (and is still) my all time favorite Yankee, and seeing him wear Dodger blue is ridiculous,   Besides, look how well he is handling the difficult job managing the Dodgers.....he is better than Girardi, in my opinion.

I think the lack of free weekends is do more to supply and demand during the summer months. They actually have customers paying $500.00 a night on Saturdays, so unless you are high diamond or seven star weekends are out till the season ends. I personally don't like weekends even in the off season, just too crowded.

The conspiracy is worse than any of us imagined. DaBurglar turns a profit and all the hotels raise prices to $500 a night hoping he will stay there and give the money back?!?! This requires further investigation.

Had a Don Mattingly bat years ago that I gave to my Godson. ( It had his sig, but was a junior size from a dept store ). Still the kid used it like it was gold and became quite a slugger himself going pretty far through high school and college. DM is my second favorite. My all time favorite slugger is Ted Williams for his talent not necessarily the man himself. As far as the comp situation goes, I can't comment on A/C, but the only winning month I had in 2 years resulted in drastic reductions in free play, show offers, hotel comps, etc. One would think the opposite would be true to get you back there and to stay there. I guess the casino execs are as superstitious as we sometimes are.

Wazzzup Eduardo?!?!?!     Seriously, you stay silent for weeks, and then when you actually do choose to post something, you decide it should be this wiffle ball aimed at me?     Interesting in a "will the pig choose mud or garbage to roll around in" type of manner....But I will humor you....I will indeed ask the folks in the NJ gaming office.   I am not sure if you are aware, but on the ACTUAL boardwalk in AC, on the corner of Tennessee Avenue and Boardwalk, the NJ gaming office has office hours open to the public where you and I can go in and ask anything we want, or lodge real, bonafide complaints!    Isnt that great?    You would Not BELIEVE what I have found out over the years of regularly visiting the folks there.     They are really nice and eager to help, unlike the management in most of the AC casinos.    I will be sure to update you on what I find out about this suspicious room pricing baloney.

I have been on a lot. I just haven't had much to say. Your post amused me, that's all.

I have never noticed a connection between offers and how much I win. I am sure they consider it somehow with some formula that I will never understand. I would never adjust my play accordingly (how could you?)

I hardly ever get offers any more but I also do not play as much as I used to.

I haven't seen any cut backs from the Borgata. This weekend is starting out right. I just noticed on my offers from the Borgata for 2 comp tickets to see John Mellencamp. Now, If I can get tickets for Kevin James that would be great.

Sorry to see they rained out the fireworks jimdeuces!   But they have then reset for Sunday July 6....will you still be there???     I am thinking of taking the late bus Sunday afternoon now, which means I should be rolling in just as the show starts......we'll see.Eduardo, thanks for the clarification......but I really am going to be in the gaming office on Monday July 7 in the afternoon so I actually might just bring this topic up for the heck of it.    But I have a slew of questions that are ahead of this issue, in light of the recent developments of Showboat closing and Revel basically flatlined as well,     Someone, somewhere has a lot of explaining to do......Folks, I am not just blowing off steam or ranting in all this.......I have been, and will continue to be, in contact with two reporters who cover the casino beat in AC for the PRESS of AC (the best newspaper in south jersey in my opinion.)    Donald Wittkowski and Jennifer Bogdan write for the Press, and frankly, since I myself represent a demographic that the casinos desperately need, and since I choose to come from all the way up in MASSACHUSETTS down to AC (bypassing, in the process the two local casino giants, Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods), they want to hear what I have to say.    But it is not just me.....I wholeheartedly encourage ALL of you who visit AC to give your input to the newspapers as well as the casino management.   Unlike what a few other posters here advocate, constantly griping about what is wrong is the ONLY way things ever have a chance of changing or being fixed.    I know Roveer at least agrees with me, given his experiences with Harrahs AC.Jimdeuces has the right idea, i guess....he sticks solely to BORGATA in AC.    I may eventually wind up emulating his strategy, but right now I just love too much wheeling up and down the Boardwalk and around the city along Atlantic Avenue.
