Chattycathy, you have made it very clear to me that you and your "positive vibes" dont agree with me.....fine.  You do not need to say it anymore....But you clearly DID NOT read correctly the post I made above in this particular THREAD....where in it did I talk about SPECIFICALLY video Poker or "gambling not being fixed" or any of the other points you accuse me of?    YOU are the one who does not know what he is talking about.....I guarantee you, you saw what you wanted to see when you were in AC, and know nothing of what most people WHO work and live in AC feel.So what, are you telling me that "EVERYTHING is just great?"    "All these casinos closing, AC club, REVEL, Showboat, and now Trump is a good thing?   ALl this economic depression is just in peoples' minds???"    Do you realize just how STUPID you made yourself look?   You obviously did not even read the article jimdeuces posted to start off this thread.....you just zeroed in on mY post, gleaned its tone and pounced......ANd where in your "positive vibes guide to the universe"  does telling people to STIFLE themselves fit in?  You are worse a hypocrite than Tedlark.    ANd my "negative" vibes can only impact you if you allow them so why dont you just IGNORE me?I really, REALLY cannot believe you are that BLIND and intent on just disagreeing with me to actually say "Everything is just FINE in AC!!"    Look up cognitive dissonance.   Between AC club, Revel, Showboat and now Trump closing in the span of 9 months, thats almost 6,000 people out of work......why dont you go and tell them how wonderful things are you moron.

Again, someone took an opposing view to DaBurglar and what happened? Hurricane DaBurglar came crashing down on them.    I for one will choose to believe what chattycatty wrote and not simply because it opposes DaBurglar. If DaBurglar did in gact have a few extra days to kill why didn't he head into Philadelphia, or somewhere else close by, and check things out there?

DaBurglar, for someone who allegedly has a double major from Harvard, you sure do not understand how the business world works. The only reasons any business fails is because someone else invents a better mousetrap, or because of poor management, or because they run out of money. I could go into a dissertation as you often do and explain why each of these places are closing down but unlike you I am not trying to impress anyone with how smart I am.

You say that you love Atlantic City but it seems that deep down inside I sense that you want to see it fail so you can say "See everyone I told you they were going to fail." You are one mixed up and lost puppy. The next time you want to call someone a moron I suggest you take a look in the mirror.

Ted, you have tried that tact before, that someone posts something contrary to what I think and VOILA, I just post something back.....that's total BS and you know it.   NO ONE would just allow themselves to be attacked the way I am and just sit there (YOU SURE AS CRAP would not)...and If I dont post anything then some myopic idiot will say "I guess Burglar has no response, so I must be right!"   I have been to philly numerous times....since it is so close to AC it is not that hard to do....have you been to philly recently ted?  (in the last 3-4 months?  I doubt it....In philly the Sugarhouse casino (on Delaware Avenue) offers crappy paytables (even by today's standards), and while I was last there (March of this year)   The first time I was there (about a year ago) I noticed that, since they have no hotel the staff is obligated to watch everyone's consumption of booze closely lest they send someone out the door drunk and that person kills someone and they get sued.   Not at all a fun place.    PLUS....a good friend of mine who I meet regularly at Resorts AC lives outside philly and he provides me with even greater perspective on Philly's casinos......he says they do not offer what AC offers, which I already knew but hearing it from him means more since he lives there.  He chooses the hour drive to AC versus the 10 minutes to either Sugarhouse or Harrahs in Philly. On the plus side I will say the Sugarhouse has a nice POKER BAR where you can drink and play VP....actually not a lot of AC places offer this feature, which is something else I have griped about that might help AC keep people coming back.I only went to HArrahs in Philly one time, and was not impressed....the AC harrahs is far nicer and more friendly. As far as chatty cathy saying I want AC to fail, obviously he/she/it has once again chosen to not read or recall everything I have written.   I could care less what he/she/it thinks and will continue to post WHAT I WANT when I WANT......the rest of the readers here (either the ones who post, or who just lurk and read) are smart enough to see what exactly is going on here. And for the record, I think chattycathy DID invent much of what he/she/it said about a trip recently to AC , and about winning all that he/she/it claims.   It obviously means a lot to him/her/it to contradict me whenever possible.I have said MANY times that AC needs to fix itself and improve what it offers (i.e. enhance its "mousetrap")   Chattycathy has NO point whatsoever in this regard.ANd one last thing, Gambling is PARTIALLY about luck....however, as any INTELLIGENT gambler knows, there is so much more than luck involved, so his/her/it point earlier about it all just being "luck" is ridiculous.   I wonder what your idol Bob Dancer would say about that?  he's never around when I need him.....Edited to Add, AND once again, chattycathy ignores what I wrote because he/she/it has no answer.....and that was. HOW can 4 casinos close in 9 months and everything be "just fine"?    like I said, MORON

My husband and I just returned from 5 nights at Caesar's in AC. It was pretty dead during the week, as is the case in many casinos. Surprisingly though, the high limit slots area was not at all busy Friday night (we left Saturday morning). We had an ocean view suite that probably hasn't been fully updated since the rat pack days. New carpeting kind of clashed with the old gold velvet-back dining chairs Nonetheless, room was clean and bed was comfy, which is all you really need.

VP play overall was ok. Hits were inconsistent, although I did get some good jackpots ... 2 royals on the same $2 machine; dealt aces on super triple play and quad aces twice with no kicker on tdb. I would have come out ahead, but my husband can smell a jackpot and always seems to show up with his hand out at the same time the attendant is paying me.

Doris, you were right about the shore traffic. I was so thankful we were heading out of town because the inbound traffic was at a crawl. Eleven hours later, we were home!

Thanks for the update and sharing that info Buff, and congrats on winning some money for the whole of your trip.   If you dont mind answering,  can you be more specific on which games you actually did play and what the paytables were?  You mentioned some TDB and super triple play, but what else was in the mix and what were the paytables/odds?       Also, how often do you go to AC and where do you usually stay and play?     And finally, even though you alluded to it, do you agree or disagree that AC AS A WHOLE (or in general) is in rough shape with the forthcoming closure and layoffs of four (4) casinos within a 9 month span?  (AC CLUB, SHOWBOAT, TRUMP PLAZA  and  REVEL)       If some sort of last minute buyout, or accomodation, is not realized, AC is looking at reaching a NEW bottom sometime NEXT year.    You seem like a very reasonable, intelligent and level-headed VP player so I look forward to your input, whatever it is.....Once again, I have to reiterate something that should have been already been made clear to anyone who has been reading this forum and my posts regarding AC for the last 3-4 years.....while my OVERALL video poker play results in AC have been very bad from 2009 thru today,  there have of course been certain specific sessions or trips that did result in some sort of positive outcome/profit.   Of course, I have hit some royals and big quad payouts......I never said that I NEVER ever win anything, EVER!     So it stands to reason that some players will also report some single, specific positive results for any given trip or session, etc.      My position regarding VP in AC has always reflected on the OVERALL History of play, stretched out over hundreds of thousdands (actually its over one million by now) of hands played.....the VAST majority of these hands have been played on 99%-plus  games like 9/6 JOB progressives, 8/5 Bonus poker, and a few other games which offered returns over 99% due to a extremely high progressive jackpot, or a possible mistaken or aberrational paytable that was updated improperly (intentionally or not...)

Everything I mentioned in my last post is true. Once again you are trying to be cute with your he/she/it comment. As I have mentioned to you in an earlier post my screen name is chattycatty not chattycathy. The only reason I am using it is because my wife originally found this website. She does not contribute but she does read these posts and thinks you ( Daburglar ) are nothing but a bag of hot air. She especially enjoyed Doris's suggestion that you are what Brad Paisley was referring to in the video "Things are so much cooler online".

Buffilita, we were there July 8th through the 12th. We also stayed at Caesars. It seemed busy to us. I am not a regular for AC and the only thing I have to compare it to was our two trips last year. One was in May and the other was in September just before the Miss America Pageant.

Congratulations on your royals. It seemed to us that at least where we were playing at Bally's there were lots of people getting handpays.

Some further commentary on the state of AC casinos. I have not been to AC since before the casino. Wife and I hoped to go one time when we were back east. At this point, looks like we may need to get there rather quickly.
“There’s been a lot of bad decisions made in Atlantic City over the years,” he [Donald Trump] said. “Bad choices.” See article below (no idea why there is no direct link)

Congratulations on your royals. It seemed to us that at least where we were playing at Bally's there were lots of people getting handpays.Ok so you see, we were there at the same time....and by your own admission you have only been there 3 times in the past year or so.....I have been going once a month, every month since 2009, spending an average of 5-6 days per stay (longest I ever spent there in one visit was 12 days).  I have become thoroughly familar with many things, people and places in AC (ALL of the the city, not just the casinos.)   AC is not a bad place to live or visit so long as you avoid the few crime-ridden parts which are easy to spot, and which are no different than any other american city (including VEGAS, which has the highest crime rate in the USA.)During your 3-4  day stay last week, you no doubt were focused on enjoying yourselves and not specifically paying attention to the things I am talking about.....and thats OK  because you SHOULD be enjoying yourself.   But in my case, right from the get go when I first got to AC on 07/07 and met up with a couple friends who work in the Taj Mahal, they were lamenting all that was going on with Showboat and Revel, and while the trump plaza story had not quite yet broken full blast, they were fully aware of what was coming because it has been in the works for a while.   They were really depressed and worried for a lot of friends and family in AC.    As the next few days unfolded, I noticed a lot of subtle yet  still obvious signs that things were not good with many employees at the Taj, Resorts and later on, at Ballys where I discovered all my Poker playing plans were KAPUT.   My favorite Ice Cream Vendor on the Boardwalk, a very nice and cordial lebanese couple who own and work the stand and who have known me since I started going to AC were not happy.....as I drank my Milkshake they were telling me how this will probably be the last summer they operate in AC (they are thinking of moving up the coast to north jersey or maybe even all the way to Long Island.)   It was just SAD.Ac has seen its revenue fall and fall and fall, every year since 2007.....the fact that they have not been able to at least STEM the flow of blood tells you a lot about what is wrong and what needs to change.     BUT THE FACT, CHATTY CATTY, that you still managed to enjoy yourself PROVES what I have been saying all along, that AC still COULD be successful if and only if they got serious about changing and improving what they have to offer (i.e.  "Their Mousetrap")   As far as you seeing "lots of handpays" at Ballys, what exactly constitutes "a lot"?   What day exactly was this and what games?   Most of the video poker games you referenced (like the 8/5 triple hand machine(s)  only get into handpays when the pot goes over 1200 and/or someone hits ALL three lines simultaneously.   ANY other game nearby likewise does not have that high a jackpot.      But then again, since I RARELY ever see handpays when I am there (in most AC casinos), if i saw ONE (1) handpay I would report that as "a lot".JUSt leave it at that...you have your impression, I have mine.   You could have just said "I disagree with your assessment"...you do not have to essentially call me a liar.
