Another example I played for grinding points at Fitz Tunica for the Wii Bowling Tourney last month, 500/9/6 Jacks (98.88%). The VPFree2 faithful really despise that last one... I've played a lot worse than 98.88% with juicy promos, multipliers and/or bounceback. I guess that makes me NOT one of the vpFREE2 faithful. LOL!
I thought the 98.88% with 2500 credit payout for a max credit Royal Flush was an urban legend, but seeing screenshots lately, they do exist. I never crossed that bridge as I never hit a Royal Flush on a single line game as a novice player.

Assuming that there was a pay table strategy to attract more VP players, I do not see how 'yanking their machines' fits into it. Could it be that the machines were simply removed from the floor to allow NGC and IGT to check them for tampering? This routinely happens when a large jackpot is hit.

They weren't yanked. They were just downgraded to 9/6 (98.98%) where casino brass should have had them in the first place.

Ahh - back to "The Strip" paytables. That will chase BD back to SouthPointe.

Speaking of which, SouthPointe advertised that they will be doing 2x points all day on Thanksgiving Day on the radio show and BD openly said that is where he will be that day.

Yeah, I would pick $125/hr of equity too over turkey and beer if I could afford it. And who doesn't love Quick Quads?!?! I might play a little of it tonight for pennies (50c min bet) for the hell of it...it's been awhile. Paytables at Blue Chip blow for it though (sub 97%). :(

I guess that is a good deal for a regular. Not sure how their Loyalty Card program works.

So, you can gamble on Thanksgiving at SouthPointe and see a 'turkey' too?

(just kiddin', Bob - I couldn't resist)

Their loyalty program is one of the most generous I've ever seen.

$1 coin-in = 1 point
1000 points for $3 cashback at a rate of 0.30%

Double cashback would mean 0.6%

Thus any game with an expected return of 99.41% or better would be you at an advantage player.

As Vman mentioned, everyone would definitely would play $1 10 line 9/6 Quick Quads if they had a large bankroll at their disposal.

Other days where there is a promotion, BD plays $2 NSUD to put 0.03% advantage on the long run.

BTW Southpointe is also running a promotion where BD probably can take home a turkey with $2000 coin in of play that day.

The second part of the article is released

http://www.lasvegasadvisor.com/bob_dancer/2014/1118.cfm

It continues after BD was down $34,000 and he was able to turn his session around with 4 Aces, 4 3s, 4 4s with a low card kicker and eventually the $100k Royal Flush.

BD played 5000 max bet $25 hands for a total of $625,000 coin-in. BD was expecting great bounce back mailers for that kind of play but never get any such. Only got a few $300-400 dinner comps from it. They told BD they'd expect to see more play to earn bounceback for a few thousands. BD did not feel it was worth it to play those stakes again in hopes for bounce back when misplays can be costly.

SLS restructured their high limit games so their best paying ones are 8/5 BP. They laid off employees as well. It probably goes to show there were issues with operations.

So, let me see if I have this correct for our resident 'advantage' player. Bob was essentially a 'recreational ' player at SLS, since he is not a regular player there, and was playing an almost negative-expectation game. He managed a winning session on his play ONLY because of a couple of winning hands. He did NOT get any comps that he valued even for play of $625k.

Kind of sounds like my casino trips, only that I DO receive comps that I value for all my play.
