WV I sincerely hope everything works out for you.

I appreciate everyone's concern. Just getting it off my chest was very therapeutic and I've decided to keep posting on this forum to help alleviate the situation. I realize this makes my posts long winded, so I've decided to stick to the subject on the forums dealing with video poker.

If anyone would like to see my take on the story, or as I like to call it, Radar's Adventures in Psychotherapy, I'll be posting in the Anything and Everything Forum.

I originally intended on calling the first episode of my journey into psychotherapy "Cops, Reloaded" and to begin where we left off, with the officer escorting me to the squad car. I soon realized that people who hadn't been reading this forum would have no idea what I was talking about. Therefore, I'll start at the beginning with a little snyopsis of the individuals involved, and add a little more detail to that day's events.

Even though the people reading this part of the forum will know what's coming up, I invite you to read my first episode, "Cops, Prelude" to reaquaint you with the persons involved.

[QUOTE=Vman96] Well I hope you're okay! And it was just a in passing request. Doubtful I visit Toledo anytime soon.

And hear you on the $1.50 thing. They're multi line games but you only have to play one line to max bet a line. Use the touch screen to adjust it.

I was at the Meadows today and you are right, the machines operate exactly as you describe them. This has opened up a whole new family games that I can play!

Further update: Visited the Rivers Casino while attending the Pirates last home game in Pittsburgh. Found a nickel Game King with several options including Triple Play, Five Play, Ten Play, Spin Poker, Super Times Pay etc...on this machine the Triple Play feature worked as I had described it: there was no way to bet more than one coin on a single hand, you had to have at least one coin on all three hands before you could raise the amount of coins in. The Spin Poker variation also operated this way: the Bet per Hand key wouldn't work, you could only increase the number of hands played.

Generally spin poker lets you adjust the bet per hand. Some machines touch screens though suck.

Here's an example of one line of spin poker with dream card during my recent Vegas trip.

Right, but the machine I was playing would not let you increase the bet per line until you had reached the maximum number of hands. This is my first encounter of this type of machine, I had always played Spin Poker at 1 line and increased the bet on that line. Could not do that on this machine, if I wanted to increase my bet I had to play another hand.

Wish I had taken a photo of the machine, but I probably would have lost it in cyberspace anyway. Seems like every picture I take with my phone disappears.

That is definitely not standard. Hopefully the bet per line button/touch screen was busted instead. I don't want this to be the beginning of a trend. I have found that spin poker games tend to have more liberal paytables than other "gimmick" VP variants.

A few final notes on this casino. All Video Poker machines feature large plastic buttons, easy to operate and kept very clean by the staff. The only encounter I had with sticky buttons was at the bar. I forgot to mention that there is a self serve area for beverages (beer not included - drat!). One downside to the casino is the lack of promotions. Good discount for seniors at the buffet, but I was expecting more when I sat down at a Video Poker machine for the first time. I skipped a visit to the Player’s Club because I knew that my card from the Hollywood Casino Columbus would also work here. As soon as I slid my card into the slot, a message scrolled across the display wishing me a happy birthday and telling me I had been granted an extra bonus because of this. Expecting maybe some free play, I was given a free entry into the monthly drawing for the vehicle parked outside the casino.

This was also my first encounter with the programmable on the fly machines. I didn’t really notice, because it was so subtle, but around 9 p.m. my wife joined me for a game of video poker and after starting asked me how she could change the speed of play. I saw that the Game Speed button was completely grayed out. Not sure, but it seemed like the machines were playing at the normal second level of speed.

All in all, I view the Hollywood Casino Toledo as a great place to visit for gambling and other activities in the area. During baseball season, Jamie Farr’s beloved Mud Hens pack in the patrons at their ballpark, and I can’t wait to return next summer when they are playing Pittsburgh’s AAA affiliate, the Indianapolis Indians. Vman96 has pointed out the other gaming options available to me and I can’t wait to try the machines again. I stayed at a Country Inn & Suites, where for a minimal extra $15 a night, you get a suite which is really a suite, with a separate bedroom and a solid door between it and the living area. Great for my wife and I as we live in different time zones: I’m on Eastern Daylight Savings Time while she’s on Pacific Time. I can sit in the room on my laptop while waiting for her to emerge instead of hanging out at the lobby or breakfast room. Breakfast is included in the cost of the room. The only drawback is that the hotel is situated next to a very busy road and if you’re on that side it may be a little too noisy. I was on the opposite side and my wife is a light sleeper, but she said she didn’t hear any traffic at night.
