Thanks jimdeuces for the links  ------   It is good news that Brookfield is the winner......having just returned from AC, I heard all kinds of ridiculous things while down there, which I intend to share with everyone here in a separate thread,but first let me point out one thing mentioned in this article:Straub has a reputation as kind of a goof to begin with, and his behavior mentioned here in the article is clearly indicative of that!!     He shoves someone in a public building?? (a courthhouse type setting no less??)   He is haphazard, willy nilly in his approach to serious high stakes investing!?!?    And he is apparently unable to function without medication?!?   I do not even want to speculate what the medication is or what it is used to treat, but running up and down the streets of AC in the dawn hours to obtain it is neither wise, confidence inspiring or a good sign>>>>  Aside from the fact you have to wonder about a person who would allow themself to run out of such a needed medication to begin with, how on earth would such a person make a property like the Revel into anything remotely successful??Brookfield was definitely the right choice........Now if only someone would buy the Trump Plaza....its central location right OFF the end of the expressway in the middle of EVERYTHING makes it extremely attractive for someone with a clue and integrity.

Nothing said if they were going to change the name or keep it  as Revel.that is good news.....as soon as the company gets its license authorized (which is a mere formality) they conceivably could open the casino right away!    Everything they need is there, just need to dust things off and reboot the machines, fill the ice trays and fridge in all the restaurants, and voila....I am wondering though:  I have not heard WHO will be staffing this new "entity"?  will it be mostly old people from the Revel who reclaim their jobs, or are they restarting the whole hiring process again?   I cannot imagine the deluge of resumes they will receive from all the other displaced workers.....

Things in any business always seem to take longer than planned. There are probably lots of little details to sort out and plan for. I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't open until late next spring just in time to catch the summer crowds. That of course is just a guess on my part.
