after reading this article (thanks again jimdeuces), one of the things that really stuck in my mind is at the end, where it is noted that Revel, EVEN after it closed, is still costing current owners (or, conversely, the STATE of NJ if they cannot or do not pay) 5 to 6 MILLION bucks a month in taxes....THAT's the legacy of deluded politicians rolling the dice with the Public General Welfare on the line......it was not ONLY Chris Christie's fault, there is a Tanker full of blame here.Read the comments after the article, a person with the name "CFK" makes a very good, brief comment on the genesis of this debacle.

Supposedly 3 bidders, one is a Nevada casino co with no NJ place. Wynn? Hard rock? MGM?( did they count 1/2 Borg ?)
Another update: those other two were last minute bidders. Now it's postponed until next Tue. Who knows how many bidders? It's like a soap opera, lol.

DaBurglar the article said that out of the 5 to 6 million a month it was costing the owners right now, half of that amount is taxes. I also imagine that the state of New Jersey, being a secured creditor, may have a lien in place for the couple hundred million they put up to keep construction going. The taxes would be a seperate matter from the construction loan.

Uncollected property taxes is a 'paper loss' for the state, which they will probably never re-coup. Only ongoing entities are required to pay taxes. I do not think any bankruptcy judge will award NJ back taxes from any new owner.

DaBurglar I'm well aware if the tax ramifications and that's why I gave a watered down mention of them. Billy Joe's response was a bit better than mine.
I'll give you a suggestion: if you stop making snide comments like you did above, if you stop the name calling, and some of the other crap; I might just ease up on the reins a bit myself. Just for the sake of example some of the other crap could involve mention of 2nd Amendment rights.

No, I'm sorry but I cannot do this....first off, I do not believe that the stuff I write really truly bothers you to the extent you claim in this post. C'mon Ted......"namecalling"?? You really cannot take that, if I allude to you being a jerk or whatever (which is simply what I think you are? We all know perfectly well what it is that YOU think of ME ted......Why is calling me a liar (in so many different ways...."misinformational poster"....."Half truths"...."Fibs" and of course plain old "lies" & liar) any better??? Once again you do not make any sense..... I asked you (repeatedly) to leave me alone, stop stalking my posts (or whatever the hell it is you think you are doing....OTHER people see it too, its not just me.) Now you are tired of what you started.....well too bad.Just LEave me alone....forget this "easing up on the reins" BullShiiite ....I do not care what you do, or do not do with your "reins", or posting........No one on this forum needs you to protect them from ME and my flip flopping misinformational campaign to influence everyone to scream at the top of their lungs "AC video poker is rigged! Da Burglar is a Visionary for bringing this to light! god bless his crippled arse!"People on this forum can figure stuff out for themselves......that is to say, if I am TRULY as bad as you claim, if I am TRULY as full of crap as you want us to believe, then everyone else will see that eventually....Find something else to post about on your own; respond enthusiastically and pointedly to OTHER people's posts besides just me and mine. Do that and this will all take care of itself, you will not need to do anything to your "reins" and you will find that whatever namecalling or griping on my part that apparently bothers you so much now will suddenly VANISH.........
