Be careful with this game.I've played this game a LOT over the past couple of years --- on the order of about $1 million coin-in a month on the 99.8%+ 9/6 DDB Ten Play version. This year I'm quite a bit ahead. Last year I was down more than $100,000 on this game. And that's with every hand played sober and according to the best published strategy. The swings can be brutal --- even if you are playing with a high degree of accuracy on a very high paying version of the game. The correct strategy is VERY DIFFERENT from the base game. Most of the Ultimate X games in this country return MUCH less than the version I'm playing. Especially the ones for lower stakes. It isn't unusual to find 95% or 96% pay schedules. The correct strategy isn't published anywhere and there's no commercial software that corrects you when you make a mistake. If you're guessing on the strategy, you are probably giving up an additional percent or two over and above the lousy pay schedule.Have fun with the game, but understand that you are paying well for your entertainment. For most players, it makes more sense to just write a check to the casino instead of actually playing this game. The result is the same. It's quicker. And it's far less aggravating.

Mr Dancer, did you ever question the integrity of the machines when you were down ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS?

I think he was addressing the VERY high variance of this game. That and the fact that he has wild swings with a VERY good paytable that almost no one has available. the amount he was down was a expected swing to him or he would not be playing it to begin with.

That and the fact that he has wild swings with a VERY good paytable that almost no one has available. the amount he was down was a expected swing to him or he would not be playing it to begin with.Basically correct. I can't say I EXPECTED to be down that much, but I knew it was very possible. I believe the machines are fair. It's just that I haven't hit my share of big hands with a lot of multipliers. The one time i was dealt aces and a kicker (a once-in-216K event), I only had multipliers totaling 12 --- that means a multiplier of 1 on 8 lines and a multiplier of 2 on two lines. That came out to $28K. The lowest sum of multipliers you can have on this game is 10 (ie. no multiplier at all on all 10 lines). If I had a more typical sum of multipliers that could easily been $50K, $100K, or even more.Play enough and you'll get the good hands on high multipliers. But once-every-216K hands don't come around very often --- so the cycles are HUGE.I play 10,000 hands a month at $100 per hand. I've played for 2 years so I've had about the right number of aces with a kicker. I've only hand 2s,3s, or 4s with a kicker once and should have have had them three times. It happens. But when you miss out on the big dealt hands, it's very expensive. Being dealt 3s with a kicker following, say, a dealt straight would be $64,000. Missing one or two of those can affect your score a little bit.But others playing on these machines have hit big --- so I don't think the machines are shortchanging the players. It's just that if you don't have in excess of a million dollar bankroll, these machines can eat you up. I'm not complaining. I'm not bragging. All I am saying is this game has REALLY big swings and a very difficult strategy --- even on the best games available --- so make sure you only play with money you can afford to leave behind. Because sometimes you will

I get nervous even READING about play like this!   Holy crappola.......I hope Bob Dancer does not hate my guts by now, but here is a good question:  He said "paytables in THiS country"....meaning I assume the good ol' USA.     Which then begets the question, "which country was Bob Dancer playing this game in???"    I do not want to assume by conjecturing it was in, say, the Carribean somewhere like at ATLANTIS, or perhaps Bob was up in Canada somewhere.....Was Bob in MACAU playing Ultimate X??   Where would the paytable(s) for this game be good enough for Bob Dancer to be willing to play at the level of 100 bucks a hand?!??!Gahhhhh, I'm getting nervous again......."I picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue...".(QUick what movie is that last line from???)

I would think Bob does not want direct competition for said machine so he may not want to give up his casino. Have to remember "advantage" plays probably come and go quickly so he has to hit the best as fast as possible I am sure.

No, I'm pretty sure he's talking about America. Most casinos in the US simply do NOT offer "full pay" Ultimate X because people will play the inferior paytables anyway.

I have only found one casino that offers "full pay" paytables outside of Vegas. That's Horseshoe Hammond in Indiana, and they want $50 a tier point and they do not offer the best Ult X game available, which is 9/6 DDB (~99.7-99.8%). The Ult X games they offer in Hammond are closer to 99.4% w/proper Ult X strategy (8/6 Jacks, "Airport" Deuces).
