Golden Nugget Lake Charles Visit

Post by Gigi2 »

We did visit the Golden Nugget last Tuesday for the night - sorry we missed you Larry - we must have gotten there just about the time you and Sweet C left.

Let me address the comps first - Justin who Lucky Larry referred us to has been great as a host - he signed me up over the telephone and mailed my cards (good idea since the line to get cards is huge). He has been willing to comp rooms including New Years Eve. He matched our level at L'Auberge.

We were so excited - had been waiting for this opening for over a year - and it did not disappoint. We were there the second day after opening and I was pretty amazed how seamless it was with no big snafus - the casino is beautiful and HUGE. It fools you from the outside as it doesn't really look as big a L'Auberge but it is so big. I really didn't get to walk the whole hotel area.

Our room with a king size bed was lovely - but I thought very small. However the bath was great with separate shower and tub and beautiful room - and as it turned out I wasn't there much! One more thing - the room was super quiet - although the hotel was full we never heard a sound from outside.

I play double double bonus triple line at the $1 denomination. You will only find that game on menus - not freestanding machines so you have to look. But again it didn't matter because I found that One Machine.

After a couple of attempts I sat down at a All Star machine and started to play around 4 p.m. - and I really never left except to eat once - played until 5:30 in the morning and the machine was still paying when I fell off it and stumbled to my room

Around 1 a.m. I went to 5 hands because the machine was paying so well - big hits were a Royal Flush, 4 Aces times 5 for $4,000, drew four threes plus a 2 for $2400 and many other hands over $2,000 - I brought home a handful of 1099's and am up in the mid teens.

So was a Fabulous Trip - I will try to post pictures later as I need help from my son with that.

We ate at L'Auberge and it was empty. And they have completely removed the super times pay machines by the beverage station. The only free standing super times pay are the four old machines in the middle of the casino. The new machines were not hooked up but I did look at the same machine else where - an Ultimate X machine on it's face - and super times pay was NOT on the menu - double double bonus multi level but no super times pay.

A friend of mine called her host and the hosts says there will be 10 machines in the casino that have this on the menu but I am going to have to see it to believe it.

By that, do you mean triple line?

Do you remember the pay out tables for double double bonus? 9/6, 9/5, 8/5?

Regarding Lauberge Super Times Pay. Many of the newer machines in the beverage area have Super Times Pay and Double Super Times Pay on the menu. These are next to the new machines being installed. I don't like the fact that the most you can play on Double Super Times pay is three games at $.50 max.

Casino is probably wanting to prevent a big payout on the "jackpot" hand. A dealt royal with any deal multiplier automatically awards a 20X royal. Happens one in 9.74 million rounds on average.   That would be $120k at the 50c level.

I prefer the machines at Lauberge ; but I prefer the restaurants at the new Golden Nugget. When I singned up at the Golden Nugget, they matched my Seven Stars level at Caeser's with their elite card.
