I may be planning on going to Vegas to use up an offer I received from The Rio Total Rewards, probably going to be the last time I will be getting any more offers from TR.
I noticed on VPFree their 9/6 JoB requires a minimum $5 denomination with a $25 coin in per tier credit or the 40/10/6 3-play $1 DDB with $50 coin in per tier credit, it would be way too steep for me.
The nearby options are the highly regarded Palm's casino and Boyd's Gold Coast.
I checked out VPFree for Palms and it lists some machines for JoB and NSUD requiring $2 coin in for a point. It does not list all of them. I was wondering if the $1 denomination for the 9-6 JoB and NSUD offer 1 point for $1 coin in?
Also any significant differences between the Pro (1000 points) and the All-Star (25000 points) membership tiers?
Gold Coast a better option?
Using Club Palms (LV) card for JoB and NSU Deuces

Rio - What about the single-line $1 8/5 BP at $10 per tier credit?
Palms - Yes, the $1 9/6 JoB and NSUD are $1 per point. Only the exceptions to the regular rate of $1 per point are noted on the Palms Games page.
The Palms website has a link to the "Benefits brochure" which has a detailed comparison of the tier benefits:
http://www.palms.com/content/dam/palms/ ... s-2015.pdf
Gold Coast - I don't know if it would be a better option for you. Depends on what you're looking for. I play at both the Palms and Gold Coast.

Much appreciated for the response.
I am relatively a novice at VP, I just started out this year and I have not tried out 8/5 Bonus Poker at all despite knowing it could be the best paying game at most places. I played mostly JoB along with some DDB/Bonus Deluxe/NSU Deuces at my local casino. With the situation of CET's debt being all over the news, I am considering to not pursue getting back to Diamond status from TR. I probably got the offers from the slot and non even money table game play two years ago, I lost big (a few thousand dollars) at the time and hardly ever returned to Vegas since.
I have checked out the brochure prior to writing my original post, the most notable differences were an extra $1 discount for the buffet and 5% discount at the giftshop and hotel rates. Getting to 1000 tier points from 0 is not a big issue. Was wondering if anyone knew what you get for being in the next tier.
Thanks for clarifying the JoB and NSUD is 1 credit per $1 coin in, I do not see it on the Games page on the Palms website.
Between the Palms and Gold Coast, I just wanted what offers the best introductory offer for new players as the top priority. Other than that, it would be the cashback comp rates where Palms offer .25% cashback while Gold Coast Boyd offers .10% cashback.
The next tier requires $25k coin in for Palms and $30k coin in from Boyd. Even though VP generates low bounceback, I was wondering which of the two offers the better bounceback package as another consideration. Both places offer 9/6 JoB and NSUD.

Re: 8/5 Bonus at Rio
Play JoB strategy, the games are virtually identical in terms of strategy, using 9/6 JoB strategy costs you less than 0.01%.

alpax,
I've seen you mention in a few of your posts that you just got into playing VP this year after a bad run on table games and slots. The same thing happened to me.
I also started playing strictly VP at the beginning of 2014,after years of mostly playing slots and some table games.
I also listened to a lot of GWE and the Am. Casino guide podcasts , read some of Dancers and others books, found VP.com , the wizards sites, and got a lot of answers to my VP questions from Vman and others over the past year.
From the sounds of some of your previous posts, it seems that you also enjoy the math and strategy of VP. Have you read Frank Kneeland's book on VP progressives? Of all the VP books that I have read I've found it to be one of the best, not just for progressives or VP, but for the math, history and myths of gambling in general.
Just a holiday recommendation from 1 VP novice to another.

Frank Kneeland used to post on this site much as Bob Dancer does today. You may want to look at some of his archived posts. Personally, I wish he were still posting but as he said, he was going to focus elsewhere.

Was wondering if anyone knew what you get for being in the next tier.I don't think you get any kind of special gift for advancing to the next tier at the Palms. Thanks for clarifying the JoB and NSUD is 1 credit per $1 coin in, I do not see it on the Games page on the Palms website.
The machines that take $2 per point are noted on the vpFREE2 Palms Games page not on the Palms website. I'm sorry that I didn't make that clear. http://www.vpfree2.com/casino/palmsBetween the Palms and Gold Coast, I just wanted what offers the best introductory offer for new players as the top priority. If you've never had a Palms players card before, they have a new member bonus based on your play in the first 48 hours. Lowest prize is a shot glass for earning 500 points. Top prize is $100 in free play for earning 12,500 points.Other than that, it would be the cashback comp rates where Palms offer .25% cashback while Gold Coast Boyd offers .10% cashback. For many months Gold Coast has had multipliers for seniors on Mondays and Wednesdays that add at least .4%. Palms has had free play or gift cards every Monday through Friday that add .2%. Of course any or all of this could change in January.

Re: 8/5 Bonus at Rio
Play JoB strategy, the games are virtually identical in terms of strategy, using 9/6 JoB strategy costs you less than 0.01%.
I just remembered that it is the best paying game at the M Resort; the 8/5 Bonus Poker with ACE$ bonus (where if you align quad aces you can win a Royal Flush payout) for 25c/50c/$1, and standalone for higher stakes. At the time I quickly reviewed the intermediate strategy at WizardOfOdds (there were certain subtle differences with the high card holds), but I wound up playing the game like as if it was JoB. I lucked out at the session, I was able to hit 2 5s thru Kings quads and a straight flush.
Thereafter, I did not bother to fully review the proper 8/5 Bonus Poker strategy since the strategy maker report had lots of penalty situations/exceptions to remember, the local casino offers the game at the high limit rooms at lesser point value, which further made it not worthwhile.
If I do go to the Rio, I will probably play just 200 hands of it ($1000 coin in) to see if I get another offer later on; the Gambling With An Edge episode 3 weeks ago featured a quarter VP player who got free room offers for $4000 coin in.

It is great to hear from another player that has gone through the similar situation that I have this year, though the golden era of VP has passed (advantage 100%+ opportunities), it was not too late to make the jump. I've been feeling better lately for the transition.
I enjoy analyzing statistical situations and casino games are usually the case. I really admired The Wizard's (Michael Shackleford) work on analyzing just about every game offered in the casino. My biggest regret I've mentioned before is not taking the advice of playing VP over slots much earlier, even though I was an extensive follower of WizardOfOdds for more than 10 years. Playing responsibly and within means was another issue I had to deal with, aside from enjoying the type of entertainment that a casino has to offer.
I have been using the Wizard Of Odds Strategy Maker, VideoPoker.com Pocket Mobile app, and a few months of Gold membership extensively all this time to train.
I have not got around to getting Video Poker for Winners or the books yet, but I will get the VP progressive book (thanks for the recommendation) as well as the Dancer books I was interested in reading. I will get them for myself for the holidays.

Thanks Bill, I did a quick search online and on these forums based on Frank Kneeland and I already like what I am seeing from the search results. I will definitely check it out and absorb as much of his insight as possible.

Thanks again Rebus for the responses.
I'll play a few hands of 8/5 Bonus at the Rio and play the majority at the Palms. It might as well be worth getting the $100 free play from $12.5k coin in, I do that on a normal trip to a local casino playing $1 JoB.
I listened to a few episodes of Gambling With An Edge, and I do hear about the offers from Palms near the tail end of the show when they talk about their sponsors.
I am not a senior to take advantage of the benefit offered at the Gold Coast.
