Spin Poker - Which Version?

Post by bh58 »

For those of you like me & enjoy Spin Poker - Which version do you like best? For me, I play Spin Poker Deluxe in the casinos & Triple Spin Poker online. I seem to get the best payoffs on the Deluxe version but still enjoy the greater potential of the Triple Spin version.
Thanks!

I like Spin Poker Deluxe, but if things aren't being dealt on the main line regularly, your bankroll can disappear in a hurry. I have tried tripple a few times and didn't care for it. Unfortunately, for both, the variance is much greater than a single line game, though long term the amounts paid should be the same for the same game and same amounts bet.

I'll play the regular spin poker in the casino and triple spin here on the site. Volatility alone kills what little bankroll I bring so I tend to avoid this game as opposed to Ultimate X or Quick Quads.

I've done pretty well on spin poker through the years, you almost always get something back. I love the rare multi pay spin poker and have gotten a couple of W-2s on them but the money goes fast if you don't hit.

Do you mean in wheel poker, not spin poker?

The best version to play depends on pay schedule --- i.e. how much you get for a full house and flush. Neglect those considerations at your peril! There are casinos where Spin Poker Deluxe has better pay schedules than Spin Poker, other casinos where they both have the same pay schedule, and others still where regular Spin Poker has the higher pay schedules. If you have to go down in stakes to play the higher number of hands on Spin Poker Deluxe, it's very common that Spin Poker Deluxe for nickels is one pay schedule tighter than regular Spin Poker. For a knowledgeable player, that should be a show stopper.

One thing to note about Spin Poker Deluxe/Spin Poker though...

You do NOT have to play all the lines to play 5 credits per line. So if Spin Poker Deluxe has the better paytable, but you only want to play 9 lines at max bet like Spin Poker, you can via the touch screen. I've played Spin Poker/Spin Poker Deluxe at 1 line in some cases because it was a better option, but one line is the price i wanted to pay. Doing that may make your blood boil though...

I found it strange that the best paying Jacks or Better games at most MGM casinos were on the spin poker machine at the high limit rooms (to play $1 denom instead of $5 single line game kings). It felt awkward playing spin poker with one line so I immediately went back to the Luxor to play single line Game King.

I wonder about the reason it is set that way, I have not checked or recall if they lock the number of lines settings.

I am actually thinking of making a cut out out of a manilla foleder to place over the screen so I don't have to see the other two lines when I just want to play the center deal line. I doubt the casino will let me do this, but I am going to try. I may ask someone if its OK first, but I can almost guarantee the answer will be no. They will say something like the cameras can't see everything.
This would be especially good to use on those machines at Mohegan that let you get paid 800 for 1 with just a nickel bet. Believe it or not, they are still there. Wish I could beam them out to you.
