Sams Town

Post by Tony Felder »

Added a few days onto next weeks trip to Vegas and was able to get into a VP tourney at Orleans. They would only comp me 3 nights but then would comp me 2 more at Sams Town.

Question is how's the VP there? I have never stayed or played there so don't know if it's a good spot or should I shuttle somewhere else. Appreciate any info

I understand Sam's Town is a favorite among locals Tony so that may tell you something. Good luck in the tourney.

Sams has some full pay deuces wild, double double bonus,Loose Deuces Wild, jacks or better and double bonus. You have to search around the casino as pay tables are not the same on every machine. Those games are all available at .25 cent. There are other games in the 99% range as well. Sams has better pay tables than Orleans.

The rooms at Sams are good. Inside rooms overlook the court yard and outside rooms look at the mountains.

If you go a mile north on Bolder Highway you will find the Bolder Station Casino. It has full pay in nickels, dimes and quarters. Big casino as well.

I will be at Sams in a couple weeks. There are mostly older people there but lots of VP.

Great Info Case, I will have a car that portion of the trip so maybe I will check out Boulder Station also.

I never been there, but from lurking (and still do) on the Wizard of Vegas forums, it is widely known for 100%+ VP play as case mentioned, as well as low limit table games if you are interested in those.

They promote their 100%+ games by even putting up big signs that say "over 100% payback with optimal play", someone posted a picture of that. Boyd gaming operates both Sam's Town and Orleans, but Sam's Town is more geared towards quarter players.

I remember hearing Dancer saying you will get thrown out at places if you just play 100%+ games. Not sure if Sam's Town is still the case. You will need to play long enough to hit natural royal flushes to be ahead in the long run, not sure what the 100%+ play length limitations are.

If you are able to make it on a Thursday and willing to play the under 100% games, you will get 7x point multiplier (or 11x for slots or 20x for aristocrat buffalo slot) as it is running through January. Still up in the air about myself going to Gold Coast.

Here is the link where I saw it.

Also from the Wizard of Vegas, you still get some (not a lot) points/cashback for playing 100% games. The 7x multiplier does not apply to those games.

The Sam's Town video poker listed in vpFREE2 looks right to me. http://www.vpfree2.com/casino/sams-town-casino

Vp is definitely great. Not sure what the best play is for maximizing value comp wise. With the multiplier probably should stick to the "negative" games that day at least.

I think the 9/7 DB progressive with the $1500 royal reset is also considered "negative" for full points. Also the royals at the winchester bar can get somewhat high too from what I read. Best game there is also 9/7 DB for quarters.
