Started serving booze late 09.
Shamrock 7s is the game to play in the VP.

They are investing over 600K in the place. New Hotel will add 532 rooms.

Just started playing Shamrock Sevens. Trying to figure out the best plays. Five of a kind is the jackpot. If you are dealt a pair plus one seven do you keep the pair and the seven or just the pair. I am having trouble figuring out the best play.

In order to answer that question you need to provide the entire pay schedule for the game.

Thanks New2vp. I am really only looking for a technique type of answer from someone who plays the game regularly. I am not sure of the ratio applied to the pay schedule. I only know that the jackpot is for five of a kind and the seven's bonus pays well as a general rule. Not to mention a good payout if you end up with a full house with either three sevens or two. You get the full house pay plus bonus round if you hit the three sevens full house. Any regular players out there with a tip? I just recently started playing the game at Harrah's Cherokee Casino. Can't find any trainers or tips online.

SF-50
4oak-14
FH-8
FL-5
St-3
3oak-1
2P-1

When you hit 3 or 4 sevens it puts you into a bonus round. I estimated the average values as such:

quad 7s-26
trip 7s-13
FH 7s-20

Of course this was based on one nights play almost 10 years ago, so it's probably wrong. The game has one joker.

Hold single 7s.
Hold 3 for a flush if you have nothing else. Also go for inside straights.
Don't hold a 7 kicker.
Don't hold face cards unless you have two suited.
Hold four for a flush over a pair (except 7s).

Send me your email via PM and I will send you a program that allows you to practice. There are lots of other strategy changes over normal joker poker. You can adjust the paytable if you think my estimates are wrong.

Thanks for the input! The recommendation to not hold a seven kicker is what I was looking for. The rest of the game is fairly straight forward. Thanks again for everyone's help. Now all I need is a machine that rewards decent play.

I've been to Harrah's in Cherokee, NC twice in the last month and think it's a great place, players get complimentary rooms depending on how you play, and they do serve alcoholic drinks there, they're not free, but they do serve them.. you get soda's and waters free while you play.. and Paula Deans Kitchen restaurant has the best food you can get (I highly recommend the chicken pot pie, it's delicious)
The VP machines are located all around the casino, with different bet rates... (ie, .25/hand , .50/hand and $1/ hand)
they have penny slots and so forth as well.. it is a great place to go to just have some fun and try your luck..

jws74, gad you enjoyed Cherokee however we spent two days there whie Irene was visiting and I found the VP deplorable. Bartop .25 SL ddb 6/5, $ & $5 bp 7/5.  Luckily we stayed at a Holiday Express , "stay smart", and didn't play them. We opted for the $5 "Lock & Roll" machines.  Hit the 5  times pay for $2500, $10 Double Diamond for $1600 and  a Triple Diamond for $1500. Tanqueray hit one for $1250.  Coming back to Irene's damage we needed  the winning trip.
